Three Purring On A Step

~ ~ ~
It's been a busy month.
Just seems to be that way over here.

I'm having troubles lining up my photos
with my blog .. they won't load.
I see them but no way will they
get on here.
Clouds ... yikes.

All the purr gang is thrilled
with the Spring sun spots
that have arrived.
You can find them,
the purr gang,
napping in one
somewhere around here.
Old cats that they are.

I do my counting
and the number
shall be five.
All is well.

The girls, Sally and Jodie,
are busy playing outside.
Sally loves her ball
and digging holes.
Oh, the back yard looks
lovely these days.
Not.

Jodie just watches her baby sister.
I remind her that she did that
just a while ago.
The wise Collie looks at me
with that, not me, pretty smile.

Me, I'm going here, there and nowhere.
You know how that goes.
Busy doing nothing but everything.

I am thrilled to have Spring
trying to arrive.
Rain, sun, thunder, warmth.
Soon I will be able to sit
outside and read a book
while watching the girls
enjoy their yard.

That's me.
All I need.
Content.

Hope all is well with you.

Meowy Monday

My thoughts exactly !!!

~ ~ ~
Crazy Busy time of year
over here in the woods.

Boxes are arriving.
Will they all get here in time ?
I hope so.

The puppy is growing.
Longer. Taller.
She stills thinks the best thing ever
is a cat screaming as she
goes over to say hello.
The cats don't really agree.
Lots of me telling her
to leave the cats alone.

Hope your Holiday goes well.
Make that list.
Check it twice.
Going to find out
who was naughty or nice.

Remember To Dance
Even if it's to
Holiday Music.

Cat Tales

I saw this cat and thought,
WOW,
how beautiful is she or he.

Been busy.
Doing lots of Holiday things.
No baking.
Not into that.
Not without help.

The puppy is growing every day.
Smart. Learning.

Boxes are arriving.
Love how I don't have to
go to the shopping malls
for everything.

No tree.
No decorations.
Will try to start that.

For now, I'm enjoying.
Coffee in a cat cup.
Two dogs snoozing.
Cats trying to open a box.
Tape still on it.
Riley will get it open soon.

Rain has arrived.
Nasty wet out.
Merry Merry
to all
and
remember to dance.

Sally Did It

I have not been able to download any of my own photos.
This one I found on pinterest.
It looks exactly like my girl.
She's keeping me busy.
Currently chewing on an old ice cream carton.
Keeps her entertained forever.
Who would have known.
All those toys I bought, nope,
she likes paper.

She's doing fine.
Almost eleven weeks old.
Sleeps through the night .. sort of.
I think I will live through this puppy.
I think.

The cats are doing well considering.
The older boys are in their own room.
Just this week they decided to take back
most of the house.
I knew they would after a while.
Sally runs up to them and wants to play.
Meredith Ann just yells.
Ashton hisses.
Going well so far.

I can't believe it's mid November.
Where did the time go ?

Mew at you later,
JC

Monday In The Woods

We have survived a week with the white puppy.

My photos are all blurry and not downloaded yet.
Don't know why.
Maybe since I'm so busy with this little one.
Here, there and everywhere.

The cats have found new places to hide.
I try to sit with each one of them
every day just to remind them
that this faze will pass.

They laugh at me while they
go back under the bed.

She's napping by my feet.
I imagine getting that cute photo
but no, that won't happen.
Too old, too young, too much to do.
For now, I will enjoy those moments
while I can and hope to some day
have the camera in hand and get
those amazing moments.
If not, there's always pinterest.
My next best thing.

Remember to dance
even if it's around, over or behind
the ever moving puppy.

Too Cute

It's been raining.
The Fall weather has arrived.
Leaves on the ground.
Drops leaking all around.
Cats, if they could, would not be happy.
For now, they are napping
or getting in trouble.
Riley, my orange boy,
would be doing that.
When isn't he .. oh,
when he's napping.

Hope you had a nice week.
Remember to Dance
when you can.

Purrfect Week

I can't get enough of these cute cat photos.
I look for them with a garden idea and this one popped up.

~ ~ ~
Another week has gone.
Sunshine everywhere.
Reading books in the shade.
Dogs barking at people walking
or paddling within their sight.
It's what they write about.
The Summer Days.
The evenings are skies with color.
Shades turn to stars.
Really, I'm having a fabulous time.

Cats are fine.
Sitting in the warmth
or in the coolness of the rocking chair.

Me, I'm doing fine over here
pretending that this really
is my life.
I'll be back soon enough.
My woods are calling me.

Hope you had a purrfect week.

Sprinklers Are Going

The weather has been warm.
A bit foggy in the mornings.
Sunny in the afternoons.
Quite warm for us.
I'd rather have it be in the 70's
instead it's 90 in the shade.
Really not typical for us.
(I live in the Pacific Northwest)

Cats are loving the beach life.
This house stays cooler.
They get to go out on the deck
when it's not too hot.

Dogs are having fun.
Jodie plays.
Maddy watches.

Me, I'm taking it easy.
Enjoying these warm days.
I know all too well
that the rainy ones
will return.

You can imagine me
with a good book
and a cool drink.
Just taking in
the sights and sounds.

Every once in a while
I get up and dance.
Music playing
like I was young again.

Cat Garden

I did a bit of gardening this weekend.
~ ~ ~
The weather was warm.
The weeds were many.
The hoe called my name.
The back didn't like it.
The frozen peas helped.
The sunset was fabulous.
The wine helped the viewing.
The cats purrs added to the day.

Wednesday In The Wild Woods

Cute Cat On The Kitchen Counter

I am in the midst of a total kitchen remodel.
That means that everything that was on the counters,
cats included, are now on the dining room table.
(it's the room next to the kitchen)

The dishwasher, stove and fan arrived yesterday.
The kitchen counter was templated too.
We picked out
 our granite on the weekend.
We've been looking for months.
Online and at stores.
We'd pick a color and see it in person
and it would be totally different.
We got in home quotes.
Way too much.
(don't do a Sears quote .. just saying
or do so you can see what I mean)

This time, we found the one.
(I hope)
It's white based with grey ..
almost black .. with a bit of gold.
Should look nice.

We couldn't decide on a back splash.
I had no idea that was going to be so hard.
Decided to see the counter in
and then get some samples
and put them up against the wall.
Meaning that my kitchen will be a mess
for a while longer.

The floors will be done after the big stuff is done.
I'll do the cabinets after that.
Not totally new but refinished.
I got quotes for that too.
You wouldn't believe what they want to charge.
So, Mr. Boatman is going to do it in his spare time.
Meaning, the kitchen will be a mess
for a while longer.

Cats hid yesterday when the guy
was measuring and creating
the template for the counters.

I think we've worn them out
with all this in and out
and noise.

Catting Around

~ ~ ~
Another day without being able to do my own photos.
I took this one from Pinterest.

It's Friday but seems like a Wednesday.
The week was weird for me
due to the extra day Holiday.
And, yes, I always capitalize Holiday.
I like the word.
It's meaning.
The potential of it.

My woods have been quiet.
A few birds visiting
but not too much other than that.

I see the Spring arriving though.
A few bulbs are trying.
Which is hard in my woods
due to the squirrels, deer, bear,
 raccoons and coyotes.
(I haven't seen the last three
in a while but they're out there)

I don't blog often.
Doing this and that
and keeping busy.

Not being able to post
my own photos
is a bummer.
I think do I really want
to put the time into it.
Still working on the fix
for this old computer.
Each day it's recover a bit
of what it lost but more
is waiting to be retrieved
from the vapors of disc ville.

This weekend, I have a list
a mile long of things
I need to get done.

The Purr and Fur Gang
have been napping
and helping me.
Not much else to do
until the warmer days
decide to arrive.

We are waiting
and looking out the windows.
Hoping it makes an
early dance down our
long driveway.

And, that's about it
from the woods
on this sort of
chilly Friday.

One And Only

This is what I was listening to
while drinking my meowning coffee.
Fog, cats, dogs and music.
Going to be a grand day.
Just saying ...

Nothing Says It Like

Riley Andrew helping with Maddy Jean napping

~ ~ ~ ~
Last night, I finally got around to putting
a few ornaments on the Holiday tree.
The box that had them was being warmed by Meredith Ann.
She had found the box early on.
By mistake it now seems, I'd put a blanket on top of it.
That spells napville around here.
Thus, every time I looked at the box,
someone who blogs on Mondays,
was napping or bathing or just looking cute.

So, when the alert went off that she had
vacated her box, I went to work.
Course she came back in the middle.
Looked at her box with a "what are you doing"
smirk and waited by the fireplace til I was done.

I put only half of the ornaments on the tree.
Thought I could put the rest on later.
There was a cat waiting.
There was a movie.
There was a couch.

I put the blanket back on the box.
Only it wasn't as full,
so when she napped, it sank a bit.
It's an old box that has held the ornaments for years.

I sat there, looking at the unfinished tree,
the cat on her box,
the Holiday candles burning away,
 the Christmas movie playing.
the dogs on the couch,
the cat napping on his scratching post,
the winter brew in my cup
and thought that it doesn't get much better.
This is what my life is about.
 Peace. Purrs. Dogs dreaming.
The movie was a nothing says the Holidays
and putting a tree together kind,
The Fugitive.
Yes, Tommy Lee Jones and Harrison Ford in the same movie.
Both looking fabulous and both making my purrfect evening.

While I'm over here,
enjoying my peaceful life and the twinkle
of my tree and watching an old movie,
 I hope that your Holidays
are as peaceful and full of purrs as mine.

Did You Hear It

~ ~ * * ~ ~ * * ~ ~
I went on the scale today.
I knew I'd been eating too much.
I always decide that I'll get away with it.
It won't show up.

Not this time.
Nope.

My old body laughed at me.
I yelled at it .. the scale.
The old body, well, what can I say.

I used to be thin.
As a child.
Then, I had kids.
Never ever recovered from that.
Have always had forty or so to lose.

Every year I wish to be a certain weight.
At the time of year when you do those things.
I gave up doing that a while back.
Taking steroids will do that to you.
Give up on the losing thing.

Only for some reason, I thought,
that maybe it had gone down.
What a silly old lady I am.

The new jeans that I bought
fit though so that's a good thing.

I think I would have lost it.
You know how that goes.
The scale being mean
and the clothes follow.

So, I will now stop eating.
How do you do that ?

Me and the cats on diets.
Yes, even they need to lose a few.
Aren't you glad you're not at this house ?

By the way, I put the new jeans on to
go to the grocery store to get that pecan
pie that had winked at me the other day.

Nope, not happening.

Sad face.

OK, got to go .. Jodie Belle has been a
barking machine today and she's at it again.

~ JC ~

The pecan pie is my favorite.
What's your delic pie or cake or ... ?

Thursday In The Woods

Not much going on over here.
Spring has arrived.
Birds are singing early in the morning.
That wakes Jodie Belle up.
She then starts to bark.
At the birds or the cats, I'm not sure.

So, up I get to take her out.
Nothing like four thirty and darkness.
Back we go to settle in for an hour or so.
Not to sleep but snuggle with a cat or dog.

My back has decided not to get better.
I finished my week of steroids.
Things seemed to be improving.
Less pain. Less screaming.
Two days off the steroids and I'm a mess.

Starting physical therapy tomorrow.
I really hope it helps.
Cause I'm getting just a bit crabby.
(On week three of this pinched nerve.)

Cats have all been getting along.
Which is rare for this cat house.
My boys don't like my girls.
And, my girls run from the boys.

Both dogs are enjoying going outside.
Has been sort of nice out.
Have finally gotten a few photos

of Jodie Belle that aren't a total blur.

My list of things to do is still long.
Being out of it for three weeks has delayed
getting this and that put away and cleaned.

Oh well, at least I have cute cats to sit with
and dogs to keep me occupied

over here in the woods.

Last Night I

The coffee this meowning needs to be powerful
Full of magic
Nothing like it in the world

Last night I got no sleep
Ok, maybe a wink or two
But seriously what the heck

Rain, More Rain,
Oh let's get a bit louder
Pouring, Hill sides coming down
kind of pouring
Cats, dogs, all on the bed
I knew I should have gotten a King
instead of a Queen
That was my h's decision
Oh no we don't need that size
Right, yes we do

This meowning I feel like I survived
the battle of all battles
The storm that wasn't lost
I'm worn out
And the day has just begun

Wow Meow

It's been a nice weekend so far.
This meowning I woke to
 Jasmine sitting on my pillow.
Ok, she was standing as close
to my face as she could get.
One of those, petting the cat
while trying to sleep moments.
We've all had those.

What I heard after that was
 Riley in the window
e  ee ee ing
at the birds.

Were they ever singing.
An orchestra in the backyard.

I gave up and got up.
Fed the crew.
Made it downstairs to make coffee.
Let Mere and Riley out on the deck.
(I'm at the beach place so it's safe.)
Had to sit by the window where I could see
if Riley was trying to get up on the railing
to jump off the deck.
Which of course, he was.
Only this meowning just a tap on the window
would get him to jump off.

I've got him in now.
He actually came in on his own.
Jasmine is the only one out.

Meredith Ann came in and is sitting by me.
(The photo is what she normally does.)

And, that Ladies & Gentle Cats is the
meowning report from my
furry filled world.

A Wow Meow Kind of Day !!!

Enjoy !!!

A Rainy Friday

My three boys asking to go out in the rain
It's a rainy Friday mid meowning.
Just got back from getting a drive thru
Starbucks coffee.
My D wanted one & I had to drop something
Off in that same area
So, I thought
Why Not
I even got one
A tall lowfat vanilla latte
Tastes a bit like
Hot milk
Don't think I'll get another one
Had to try it though
With this being the year
I try new things
And, get out and about
More than I have been

Hope you have
A Peaceful Weekend
Remember to find
Joy in each day
No matter what happens
Or how hard it rains

Saturday at The Big Lake

I am still not at home
In the woods
Instead I am looking out
At the Inlet
What I call
The BIG LAKE
The tide has been in
Most of the days
I've been here
Which is ok
Cause the weather
Has been just a
Bit nasty

The loons are on the big lake
Man those feathers
Must be like a
fleece jacket while camping
add the green tarp overhead
You get my image

Ashton is on the counter
Jasmine is by the door
Meredith is upstairs in the hall
Baby Kitty Riley was by the couch
And, Big Al .. I think he is on the bed

I have taken photos but not set up
to download them here
So, imagine
Quiet
Peace
You got it
Just a slight bit of wind
bouncing the green bough
That hangs just outside
The reach

And, on that visual note
I will drink my delic coffee
And, wish you all
An absolutely PURRfect Day
There comes a time in your life when you walk away from all of the drama and the people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for those who don’t. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is part of life, getting back up is living.
