Meowy Monday

My thoughts exactly !!!

~ ~ ~
Crazy Busy time of year
over here in the woods.

Boxes are arriving.
Will they all get here in time ?
I hope so.

The puppy is growing.
Longer. Taller.
She stills thinks the best thing ever
is a cat screaming as she
goes over to say hello.
The cats don't really agree.
Lots of me telling her
to leave the cats alone.

Hope your Holiday goes well.
Make that list.
Check it twice.
Going to find out
who was naughty or nice.

Remember To Dance
Even if it's to
Holiday Music.

Sprinklers Are Going

The weather has been warm.
A bit foggy in the mornings.
Sunny in the afternoons.
Quite warm for us.
I'd rather have it be in the 70's
instead it's 90 in the shade.
Really not typical for us.
(I live in the Pacific Northwest)

Cats are loving the beach life.
This house stays cooler.
They get to go out on the deck
when it's not too hot.

Dogs are having fun.
Jodie plays.
Maddy watches.

Me, I'm taking it easy.
Enjoying these warm days.
I know all too well
that the rainy ones
will return.

You can imagine me
with a good book
and a cool drink.
Just taking in
the sights and sounds.

Every once in a while
I get up and dance.
Music playing
like I was young again.

What Can I Say

What can I say.
I just got back from my kidney Dr. appointment.
Not the best news.
Not at all.

My left kidney was functioning at 17 % before
my fancy reconstructive surgery last February.
It is now at 11 %.
My Dr. takes them out at 10 to 5 %.

Thus, I am being scheduled for surgery on my right kidney.
It has two rather large stones.
Normally, they would sit there for life.
In a bad spot.

I am having  my right kidney prepared for one kidney ville.
Yes, the left, it will be leaving me sooner than I would like.

My right kidney may take two surgeries.
He told me he hopes only one.
During this surgery, he will be able to scan the left.
Wants to know what's going on.
He can't do anything to it without losing more function.

So, there you go.
One, two or three more kidney surgeries.

I think I took it well.
Wrote notes.
Got medications.
Smiled. Laughed.

Danced in the office before he came in.
Got a coffee before hand this time.

After I called Mr. Boatman to tell him the great news,
I went to Target.
Had to get yogurt for the girls dinner.
I give them some in their food.

I'm home now.
Wrote my kids a note.
My son was worried.
He's a nice kid. Really nice.

And, now as I write this the tears are starting.
I think it has gotten to me.
It's ok though cause the cats and dogs don't care.

Being brave is hard sometimes.

Just saying ...

Don't forget to dance.
Do it for me.

Foggy Friday

Ashton Rosevelt

~ ~ ~
It's been another Fall week in my woods.
Lots of fog in the mornings.
Even in the afternoons.
The leaves are everywhere.
Course being in my woods,
that's a given.

The colors are marvelous to enjoy.
I look out my back window
and that big tree
is just waiting to fly.

(by fly, I mean when
the leaves swirl around
in the air on the way
down to my yard)
All those leaves.
All those colors.
My yard really is amazing.

I was busy this week.
Doing  phone calls
and some appointments.

It was time to stop pretending
and be an adult. So, I was.

Got into my heart specialist.
I'm doing fine.
I go back in three months.
Love those ekg's.

I did dance while waiting
in my heart specialists office.

He was running late
and I'm not one for
just sitting on those chairs
and waiting. Nope, not me.

After that, I went to the imaging
department for a few rays.

My big test is next week.
Not a terrible one
but not an easy one either.
It's nuclear.
I'll say that much.

The week after that,
I get into my kidney Doctor.
I'll find out if I can keep
this lovely kidney of mine.

~ ~ ~

The purr and fur gang
have been enjoying
the warmth of a fire
or the heater vent.

It sure got cold here fast.
Been in the thirty's every day.
Warms up but still
I am not ready for this
cold stuff.

And, that is
about it for
my part of the woods.

Hope you have a fabulous
weekend and remember
to dance.

Tea, Dancing, and Merrry Ho Ho Ho

~ ~ ~
Many things ...

First, what is going on in this world ?
I read about how someone goes nuts at an elementary school.
Who does that ? Who ?
I'm mad as can be.
If there really is a God and we all go to heaven,
I have a few things to say to her.
(I grew up Catholic and am a believer in maybe.)
Can't say enough about how wrong it is to do that to anyone,
let alone sweet innocent children.
Growling over here.

Second, and this is not going to sound in the same tone
but I am in the Holiday Spirit.
Or, at least I was before I heard about the craziness
going on outside of my quiet world.
I drove out the seven miles to the main road.
The beach place is out in the middle of the woods.
Again, I know. Me and woods.
Then, you make a turn and see the water.
Anyway, going shopping is a major trip.
Getting gas is a major trip too.
So, I ventured out and joined
the rest of the lovely Holiday crowds.

Course the mall over here is a mini version of a small mall.
Not the big big big malls that
I have sort of close to me in my other woods.
Over there I live close to Seattle.
Thus, I have double decker malls.

I'm writing this and looking back at words.
To this day I still have trouble with them.
Spirit doesn't look right to me.
Thus, I love spell check.
Goes well with my after coma brain.

Third, in theme with the Holidays.
I got my cat lover's Holiday cards made and sent out.
I've known these crazy ladies for over ten years.
Slowly the once sort of large group has gotten smaller.
Now just under the ten mark.
Still it's fun to figure out that cute cat card.
Some do family photos.
Of the cats and dogs, not those humans.
We talk to each other off and on during the year
but it's those Holiday cards that bring us such joy.

Four, I might get a tree this weekend.
Being down here at the beach
with just the Purr and Fur Gang,
we haven't had the ability to
get a green smelly hanging ornaments thing.
Mr. Boatman, aka the husband,
is coming down for the weekend.
He told me he found a place to get a tree.
We, all eight of us, are thrilled.
Ok, the cats just napped when I told them.
Maddy Jean continued to ask for a bone.
Jodie Belle looked at me.
With the, What's a tree, look.

This will be the first Holiday for Jodie Belle.
We got her on January 1st.
Her first Holiday was spent in a puppy room
with her other cute adorable siblings.

Since she has found the love of chewing, again,
(we thought she had become a mature Rough Collie)
I'm a bit concerned about what we put on the bottom
layer of this green smelly hanging ornaments thing.
Time will tell if she just chews
the tree or an ornament or two.

Today, she was flossing on a few shells.
She goes over to the basket on the table by the couch.
And, when no one is watching, ok a cat is probably,
she takes a few for her morning,
 afternoon, and evening flossing.

I guess that's why I got so many shells ..
 I knew they'd be needed
to entertain this lovely lady of mine.

And, so that's my Friday update.
Meredith Ann is napping on the chair next to me.
She helped the best she could.

Me, I'm in the enjoy life faze.
I am trying so hard to pretend.
Just saying.

So, Merrry Merrry To All.

Ho Ho Ho and all of that.

And, dance to the music in your life.
It's what I'm doing.

Oh, and I went to Trader Joe's for the first time.
I know, this odd little town has some cool places.

The tea. Oh my. Why haven't I been to this store ?

Ok, now go off and dance.

Dance With Me

Yesterday afternoon during a terrible rain storm,
I was watching Hawaii Five-O
with Big Al sitting on my lap.
When the theme song came on,
Al & I did the dance.
He always puts his paws on my hand.
We move to the music.
Thus, he did the Hawaii Five-O dance with me.
He acts like it's normal.
Me asking him to dance.
If you do the same with your cats,
then you're my kind of cat lover.
~ JC ~
There comes a time in your life when you walk away from all of the drama and the people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for those who don’t. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is part of life, getting back up is living.
