What are you looking at ?

Cutest cat ever !!!
No, not one of mine.
Mine are all napping away the colder days.
The new camera is not downloading
to the computer the way I wanted.
Just think apple and you'll know what I mean.

The colder days are wet not snowy.
So, I cannot complain too much.

Was busy with my old body issues.
Had a back procedure done this week.
The hope is to improve my mobility.
I've always liked walking.
Doesn't everyone ?

Anyway, now to see if it works.
Always an interesting time.
A moment or two when I'm not in pain.
Last night I stood up and walked .. normal.
I was like .. oh, that's what that is .. was.
Then, the nerve pain reminded me
of the real me but for that one moment
I was good .. like it should be.
And, that is why I keep going.
For those moments.

So, there you go.
Life and cats and dogs and rain.

Same old stuff
just keeping me busy
like it always does.

Cat Tales

I saw this cat and thought,

WOW,

how beautiful is she or he.

Been busy.

Doing lots of Holiday things.

No baking.

Not into that.

Not without help.

The puppy is growing every day.

Smart. Learning.

Boxes are arriving.

Love how I don't have to 

go to the shopping malls

for everything.

No tree.

No decorations.

Will try to start that.

For now, I'm enjoying.

Coffee in a cat cup.

Two dogs snoozing.

Cats trying to open a box.

Tape still on it.

Riley will get it open soon.

Rain has arrived.

Fall has totally arrived.

That is what I get living in the trees.

Tomorrow our world changes.

I've put up a few gates.

Cats are checking things out.

That means it's been raining and sunny.

Cold and windy.

Odd weather to be sure.

I could feel it when I woke.

Smelled the freshness of the air.

Nothing but birds singing.

A few cars in the distance.

The mugginess was almost gone.

We haven't had a lot of moisture this Summer.

It was wanted but not missed.

As we get all too much of it normally.

Today, it is nice to wake to it.

The rain that softened my day.

Name That Tune

Johnny Jump Ups from my back yard

I sit here in the den.

Having my meowning coffee.

Eeyore cup from the time I went to Disney World.

Yes, in my younger years, I did travel a bit.

Florida is a long way from Washington state.

I watch the rain drops fall.

And, were they ever.

Drip, drip and pour.

Jodie Belle is napping.

One eye always open.

Like dogs do.

Meredith Ann is by the door.

Looking at the hallway.

Always knowing who's coming by.

Meaning, she needs to know where her fellow cat mates are.

She's just an organized kitty cat.

Nah, she doesn't like her bros much.

Unless, I'm wrong and hissing is a sign of love.

Me, I'm having sliced strawberries and banana.

My son went to the store for me last night.

It was really for him but he asked if I wanted anything.

That way I pay for things and he gets his junk foods.

I've tried with him but those goldfish still follow him home.

At least he's getting the whole wheat kind.

As my world continues on, my heart is beating wildly with it.

The last week or so I've been humming to my own tunes.

This heart of mine has a plan.

Go fast.

Reminds me of Ricky Bobby with his new friend, Karen.

(You'd have to have seen the car scene in the movie.)

My normal heart Dr. told me that I was fine.

I'm on meds twice a day.

My heart beats twice as fast as normal.

Thus, when I've had my two kidney surgeries,

I wake up to many people.

My heart Dr. has been er called to see me.

(he's in the same hospital)

I go to the critical care unit.

Whatever that means.

I have code blue and greys heard around me.
(Not me, the rooms next to me.)

And, yet I'm told nothings wrong with my heart.

My special special heart Dr. wants to operate.

Two things he wants to fix.

Only my normal heart Dr. says it's too risky.

Why not just take meds and beat away.

Oh these Dr's.

What to they know ?

It's fun being in a battle with your own old body.

So, I will just try not to pass out.

I do that from time to time.

(not this year but several times previously)

I will drink my coffee and enjoy the day.

And, I will always be reminded that today is special.

As my heart reminds me to name that tune.

Remember to dance. Even for a moment.

Friday Update From The Woods

~ ~ ~ ~

It's still moist out but trying to clear up.

The blue is peeking out from the grey clouds.

A roll of fog came in and left a few hours later.

I guess sweeping away the drippy drops.

 

A squirrel is eating our beloved bird TV suet.

A small woodpecker made Meredith Ann's morning.

She sings to the birds in a very cute voice.

Napping now while she dreams of warmer days.

 

Riley Andrew escaped last night.

Mr. Boatman was on door duty.

He was letting Maddy Jean in and didn't see him.

He was hiding under the table.

Out into the drips he went.

 

I then had to get my flashlight and go out in the wets.

Dark as can be too.

It took me about an hour of saying nice things to him.

He finally came back in.

By then, I had most of the Purr and Fur Gang

put away in rooms so that the doors could be opened.

Bad orange baby boy.

(no one of the purr variety goes

 outdoors unless on a leash)

 

Jodie Belle found the old dog bone box

 that was waiting to be burned.

She's chewed that up and made quite a mess.

Maddy Jean is dreaming in the hall about younger years.

 

Me, I'm waiting for people to call me back.

I hate doing that.

The not wanting to miss the call.

 

I do need to get out and about this afternoon.

So, I might call them .. again .. to see if they know yet.

I'm trying to get my surgery scheduled.

Would like it at the hospital I want at the time I want.

This guy has three places and only comes to mine

once a week thus, he books out fast.

 

Nothing is ever easy .. is it.

Do I look like I need to be on a Diet ?

I'm all floof.

Fuzzball city.

The Mom is on one.

So are we.

The five of us are a bit bigger than we were

but seriously, no open buffet.

It's terrible here.

 

On this rainy wet cold day,

I sit on the heater vent and think about the sun

and more food of course.

(Mom hasn't gotten a photo of me yet)

I wish I didn't have to be inside.

I wish it was warm.

 

Maybe I should go eat a few crunchie bits.

I think I left a few in my bowl.

Yep, sounds like a good idea.

This was a great week !!!

After I sat on the bench for a while,

I went for a stroll.

Nothing like snacking on a few greens.

It helps me grow my multi colored furs.

Which if you haven't already noticed,

I have a lot of.

Today it is rainy.

I am looking out the back window.

In hopes that it will clear up.

Mom doesn't let me go out when it's wet.

Something about clean up on aisle Meredith Ann.

She says it's a joke.

Mom says I can go out later

if it dries up a bit.

Til then, I'll just nap

and dream about what

a wonderful week I had.

Meredith Ann helps fix the dryer

This week we had a few days of being able

to go outside and sit amoung the leaves.

The wind and rain arrived on Friday.

(Friday night we repaired the dryer.)

We even got a hail storm.

Saturday the leaves and ice balls were all over my porch.

I haven't been outside in days.

On Mom's list ..

she always has a list of things to do ..

is sweep that porch.

She did that yesterday three times.

Where do all those leaves come from ?

So, I'll just be upstairs dreaming of nicer days.

The Mom will be outside getting my porch ready.

Fall In The Northwest

It's rainy

Meredith Ann and I are at the beach place

She loves it here

Lots of room to run and nap

Two of her favorite things

Really, she does like to run around the halls

Especially likes to sing in the bathroom

I think it's the echo effect

and that she likes to hear her own voice

Maddy Jean likes it here too

Running around the yard

Barking at the Seagulls

Jasmine decided to come with

Which means, I got her before she hid under the bed

She's been singing too

I'm going to spend a quiet weekend

Drinking tea

And, reading my book.

I leave one here just for that.

Saw one new dog on petfinder

that might fit in with our crazy home

It's out here by the beach area

We had a couple of nice days.

Mom was right though.

The rain has arrived.

Mom says Fall is here.

I like Spring and Summer.

I'm inside now.

Waiting.

Give It Back Please

It's been raining all day.

Drip Drip Drip

Pouring down like no end.

There is no hope of stopping.

The dog is so sad.

She went outside and I found her

sitting in her normal spot.

At the end of the deck,

 only she was being rained on.

I know her furs are long but seriously.

She is a sad puppy.

I told her it would stop.

(I hate lying to my dog)

Now, the naps in the hallway are going on.

I hope she can dream of sun.

The warmth and the fun of it.

We had a taste of it a few days ago.

I even planted some

 Geraniums and Johnny Jump Ups.

Not today though

Just rain

with more rain to come

When is the yellow stuff supposed to arrive ?

Doesn't help that Mr. Boatman is gone all week.

Yes, to the sunny parts of the world.

When I talked to him I didn't ask how it was going.

Just if it was sunny.

Which it was and is.

Do you have the yellow stuff ?

This is a GOOD Day

I hope everyone had a fabulous

 St. Patrick's Day.

My college basketball team won.

I enjoyed a brew

in a green bottle while watching.

(Tried to find a green one

but what I had tasted good)

I have two teams in the battle

for the Sweet Sixteen.

(Yes, they are mine)

Today, I'm talking about life.

Sometimes it's bad, aweful, no joy.

Lately, it's been darn good.

Like today and yesterday.

Could be due to my pain level.

I live with it everyday.

Normally, it's bad, terrible,

most would be crying all day.

The last week has been fabulous.

Stand up and cheer kind.

Why ?

 I don't know and I'm not asking.

Just in case it would cause it to go away.

Whomever the less pain fairies are,

I love them.

So, on this Friday,

 even though it's rainy

and when isn't it,

This is a good day.

A fabulous day.

A day to be remembered.

Summer was late

The rain fell from the clouds. It made puddles from the sky. Always leaving it's moisture lingering. The hope of the grey going away was never gone. Just hidden behind the weary dreams of warmer days. The grass grew taller. The mowers put away in their sheds. No one ventured out into the wet world.

This went on for over four weeks. People were moody. Nothing went right. The walks in the showers weren't fun anymore. When would the real weather appear. Was it really Summer ?

Like the Gods of Warmth heard our hearts, it arrived one morning. The dull white clouds were gone. The color was blue. The air was fresh. The evenings were now spent mowing the lawn. The days were too hot to go outside. The local stores were out of fans and sunglasses. Flip flops were heard on every aisle.

At the end of a warm day, the colors in the yard needed their cool reward. I walk down my driveway, leaving it for them. They smile at me with thanks. The Summer was late and very hot.

It was all worth it for those moments.
