Wednesday With The Birds

Not that many birds or trees but you get the idea.

~ ~ ~
Almost the end of January.
Been a very foggy month so far.
Birds have been visiting a lot.
That's one thing to look forward to.
Seeing them enjoy the suet's.
My window looks right out to the tree.
It hangs there for the birds, me and
the squirrels to enjoy.
Supposed to be to entertain my cats
but they mostly nap through it.
I find myself telling them all about
our visitors but sometimes
I let them nap and I sit
with my tea or coffee
and take in the beauty that is my yard.

Been busy doing this and that and nothing.
Time goes by and I think where did that day go.
Haven't been taking any photos
so there is nothing new to show you.
Just thought I'd visit
and let you know
I've gone to the birds.

Fog, Coffee and Frozen Peas

It's another foggy meowning.
When isn't it around here.
At least this time of year.

Each meowning I feed the crew.
The dogs go out back to explore the new scents of the yard.
The cats all line up out of no where
and share one small can of Fancy Feast.
(It's amazing how they hear me do that
but not when we need to go somewhere)
When the last one is done, usually Jasmine Marie,
the girls come in and get their breakfast.

Me, I go to the den with a cup of coffee
(my reward for being a nice Mom
and my wake up you old lady)
and two bags of frozen peas
(that bad back of mine)
and read about the world.

I go online and see what happened
while I tossed and turned
all night with a grey cat
on me (Ashton doing his toes)
and a Siamese on my pillow.

In between banging at the window
to get the squirrel off the bird feeder.

Today's story was about a lost dog.
(I look and pick a few to actual read)
He was lost and now he's found.
A good story for once.

I get tired of looking at the headlines and everything is yuck.
Bad this, sad that,
who needs to hear about all of that
first thing (ok, mid) morning.
I want a better world.
Don't we all ?

So, if you want to feel good about the world,
take a look at this story.

Something went right for once.

Tuesday In The Woods With Big Al

This is one of the better photos that I've taken of Big Al.
He's a shy boy.
Blends into the background.
Even if you've gotten a good one of him,
nope, you can't make out details at all.
So, today I give you Big Al.
Details.

Why is he called Big Al ?
He is a very big black cat.
And, he looks at me when I call him.

~ ~ ~
It's another foggy morning.
Been that way for over a week.
Leaves are still everywhere.
Colors too.
Misty but not rainy.
I'll take that over the total rains that are on the way.
We get so much rain that my fence has moss on it.
No, really it does.
My porch too.

~ ~ ~
I just made my list for the day.
I have a lot to do.
Better drink that coffee
and be on my way.

Foggy Friday

Ashton Rosevelt

~ ~ ~
It's been another Fall week in my woods.
Lots of fog in the mornings.
Even in the afternoons.
The leaves are everywhere.
Course being in my woods,
that's a given.

The colors are marvelous to enjoy.
I look out my back window
and that big tree
is just waiting to fly.

(by fly, I mean when
the leaves swirl around
in the air on the way
down to my yard)
All those leaves.
All those colors.
My yard really is amazing.

I was busy this week.
Doing  phone calls
and some appointments.

It was time to stop pretending
and be an adult. So, I was.

Got into my heart specialist.
I'm doing fine.
I go back in three months.
Love those ekg's.

I did dance while waiting
in my heart specialists office.

He was running late
and I'm not one for
just sitting on those chairs
and waiting. Nope, not me.

After that, I went to the imaging
department for a few rays.

My big test is next week.
Not a terrible one
but not an easy one either.
It's nuclear.
I'll say that much.

The week after that,
I get into my kidney Doctor.
I'll find out if I can keep
this lovely kidney of mine.

~ ~ ~

The purr and fur gang
have been enjoying
the warmth of a fire
or the heater vent.

It sure got cold here fast.
Been in the thirty's every day.
Warms up but still
I am not ready for this
cold stuff.

And, that is
about it for
my part of the woods.

Hope you have a fabulous
weekend and remember
to dance.

One And Only

This is what I was listening to
while drinking my meowning coffee.
Fog, cats, dogs and music.
Going to be a grand day.
Just saying ...

Sunday Fog

~ ~ ~
I woke up to a quiet.
Just me and the Purr Gang.
The Fur Gang is on vacation.

The cats make less noise.
Believe that one or not.

My dogs, Maddy Jean and Jodie Belle
make a lot of noise.

It's been so so quiet without them.

I'm not as busy either.
A pet here and a mew there.

This mornings coffee is with fog.
Yes, it rolled in during the night or early meowning.

Fall is on the way.
At least in my woods.

Fall here is moist.
Cold.

I rather liked Summer.
It was warm.
Not hot.

Purrfect in fact.

Hope your coffee is as much fun as mine.

Just Saying ...

Oh and last nights Saturday dancing
was some of the best I've done
in a long long time.

Foggy

It's a very foggy morning in my woods.
Supposed to clear up later so that the blue shows.

Heart day at my place was so so.
Nothing special at all.
Just a normal day in the woods.

I did get a bouquet of flowers the day before.
Mr. Boatman had gone to the Farmers' Market
and there was a nice variety of flowers involved.
Riley Andrew spent most of the day chewing
at it though so a few of them had to be taken out.

I was thinking about heart day.
Unless it's on a weekend, who has time for that.
To go out to dinner or do something really special.
I think it is really about small things.
The fact that I had bought a nice steak for him.
Salmon for myself, of course.
A nice fire for Meredith and Big Al to enjoy.
No, they aren't sweethearts at all.
Laughing about someone who sang on AI last night.
Way too funny, some of them are.

I think that's what heart day is.
The moments in between the big ones.
Course what do I know,
I would never say that I was lucky in love.
Just an ordinary gal.

So, while I drink my coffee
and Meredith tries to find a bird
in the foggy world we live in,
I think about hearts and how they beat.

Hope you all have a fun weekend.
We plan on it.

Friday Update From The Woods

~ ~ ~ ~
It's still moist out but trying to clear up.
The blue is peeking out from the grey clouds.
A roll of fog came in and left a few hours later.
I guess sweeping away the drippy drops.

A squirrel is eating our beloved bird TV suet.
A small woodpecker made Meredith Ann's morning.
She sings to the birds in a very cute voice.
Napping now while she dreams of warmer days.

Riley Andrew escaped last night.
Mr. Boatman was on door duty.
He was letting Maddy Jean in and didn't see him.
He was hiding under the table.
Out into the drips he went.

I then had to get my flashlight and go out in the wets.
Dark as can be too.
It took me about an hour of saying nice things to him.
He finally came back in.
By then, I had most of the Purr and Fur Gang
put away in rooms so that the doors could be opened.
Bad orange baby boy.
(no one of the purr variety goes
 outdoors unless on a leash)

Jodie Belle found the old dog bone box
that was waiting to be burned.
She's chewed that up and made quite a mess.
Maddy Jean is dreaming in the hall about younger years.

Me, I'm waiting for people to call me back.
I hate doing that.
The not wanting to miss the call.

I do need to get out and about this afternoon.
So, I might call them .. again .. to see if they know yet.
I'm trying to get my surgery scheduled.
Would like it at the hospital I want at the time I want.
This guy has three places and only comes to mine
once a week thus, he books out fast.

Nothing is ever easy .. is it.

Hope you all have a PURRfect Weekend.
Relaxing and dancing, of course.

Riley is on the scratching post*

Fog On Friday

The view from my hotel in Phoenix.
We stayed here the night before we flew home.
I had a view of their baseball field.
  The fog has arrived.
Blocking the blue skies that I woke to.
(it's been rainy for most of the month
so blue skies are quite a thrill)
I hope it rolls away.
I can't see a thing.
Noises I do hear.
Have to go outside to see what they are.
A big barge was moving along the waters.
The house two down was having
 their bulkhead fixed.
Living on the water for a week now
has taken a few adjustments.
I feel isolated and by myself.
This is what I actually wanted.
Peace.
Quiet.
Well, maybe next week
when my neighbors
construction jobs are finished.
Til then, I will enjoy
the beauty that is fog
and the possibilities it may bring.

Over Here In The Fog

This morning it was Foggy ...
Kind of spooky out
The chill of Fall is here

I hope it warms up
Like it did yesterday

Sunday was one of those 'memory' days
The kind you want to 'stop' in time

I told Mr. Boatman I'd like to have my world
Stay the same .. Just for a while

I don't want my cats or dogs to get any older
I don't want to get older either

Our world has had a lot of bumps lately
It's rare that we have a Peaceful Day
I'd just like it to stay that way for a bit longer

Just Wishing Over Here In The Fog
There comes a time in your life when you walk away from all of the drama and the people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for those who don’t. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is part of life, getting back up is living.
