Purrfect Week

I can't get enough of these cute cat photos.
I look for them with a garden idea and this one popped up.

~ ~ ~
Another week has gone.
Sunshine everywhere.
Reading books in the shade.
Dogs barking at people walking
or paddling within their sight.
It's what they write about.
The Summer Days.
The evenings are skies with color.
Shades turn to stars.
Really, I'm having a fabulous time.

Cats are fine.
Sitting in the warmth
or in the coolness of the rocking chair.

Me, I'm doing fine over here
pretending that this really
is my life.
I'll be back soon enough.
My woods are calling me.

Hope you had a purrfect week.

Flips, Shorts and A Cute Garden Cat

Another cute cat sitting in a Spring yard.
Not mine, of course, but still adorable.

The sun has arrived.
Love it !!!

My flips and my shorts were found.
Way under the long warmer pants.

I've seemed to gain a few during the Winter months.
Looks like this cat did too.

Mondays With Meredith Ann

I haven't been outside in over a week.
Mom has been bribing me with juice from her tuna cans.
It's been working but a girl can only
drink so much tuna juice before she
starts yelling at the door
for an escape.
Help me ... make the rain and cold weather go away.
I want my sunshine back.
I want to sit on my back porch
and watch the leaves flutter in the slight wind.
I want to watch squirrels on the fence
and birds fly around.
Was it a dream ?
Mom you better buy a case of that tuna
it's going to be a long yucky wet Fall / Winter.

Mondays With Meredith Ann

We had sunshine !!!
Mom got so excited.
She even bought a hanging basket.
(Costco for $19.99)
I checked it out.
I'm ok with it.
Matches my furs nicely, I think.
Later when it was really nice,
I sat on Mom's lap
in a rocking chair
getting my furs warm.
We drove to and from
with me checking out the road.

You know me,
always snoopervising
whatever I can.

Hope you have a
Purrfect Week.
I plan on it.

Trees and leaves and Sunshine

Trees and leaves and Sunshine ... taken through the car sun roof ... also known as a Moon Roof ... I asked my husband ... I said, "what'... who calls it that ... I call it a sun roof or a sky light in the roof of my car."

Last weekend, we were driving to the beach house. It always takes forever to get there. Even though it should take just over an hour it sometimes takes two. Being that it was the Memorial Day weekend, it took two. I mean bumper to bumper .. non stop ... or stop ... the whole way. No accidents in sight. Just cars.

Finally, my husband says he's 'Hungry'. He wants 'Mc E D's' ... so we pull off the freeway and the crowd follows us. At the light, we can see that the drive up goes all around the Mc golden arches. We find a spot by a tree. Cause by this time, well, Mc E D's sounds ok with me.

Only it was a hot day and the two big dogs were with us. I told him to go in and I'd wait with the girls. Which I did. Only I started to notice the tree outside the car. It was swaying in the slight breeze. The sun was out and I thought ... a photo would be a good idea.

So, this is my spur of the moment ... tree with leaves in the sun on a Saturday ... photo.

Enjoy ... almost like you were in the car with me eating a Mc E D's ... I'd share a fry with you but the girls ate most of them ... I know I shouldn't give it to them but it's those brown eyes again. We got to the beach house. There weren't any french fries left.

Nice Spring Day

It was a really nice Spring day.
Cold in the morning but got warmer.
Warm for me is in the 60's.

I was able to be in the back yard with my dogs.

Today no matter what I said, they had me at bark. I tell them that I won't sit out with them unless the sun is out or it's over 40. Out I went. They like me to be out there with them.

I talk to them and they play. My younger dog explores her jungle. And, I mean a jungle. Weeds and ferns. Trees and more trees. I counted one time and I think there are at least six types.

My oldest dog sits in her office better known as the top of the hot tub.
She looks out at the lower part of the jungle.
Barking when needed at a neighbor dog.
Sirens are so much fun.
If you are a dog that is.
I, being a dull human, don't enjoy the high pitch as much as my Labrador.

I watch the birds, butterflies .. when they are in season,
which hasn't arrived quite yet,
trees and leaves moving in the wind and clouds in the sky.
I guess I am part dog.
I did manage to venture out to the front yard.
The weeds are out there too.
I did get the barrels by the street cleared but my old shoulder told me that was enough.
I wish it wasn't old cause I do enjoy working in the yard.
My hope is that it will stop this silly achiness soon.
It's a real pain.

The weekend is supposed to be nice.
I'll take that instead of rain anytime.

Isn’t there any good news ?

I get up each morning and sit by the puter.
Coffee in hand.
Dogs and cats have been fed.
I look into emails.
I go to my main page for the news of the day.
Not one good thing.
Bombings, Bankruptcy, Below normal forecasts.
That was just the home page news.
I also have gardening and entertainment news.
Just in case the local and national news didn’t do it for me.

Well, today I wanted Good News.

When I put the dogs in the back yard, and was waiting for my coffee to brew, I looked out my kitchen window.

The sun is out. Yes, it’s yellowish in my woods. I have a bit of view. Through the woods I can see just a tiny bit of the hills. They look beautiful in the morning. They do in the afternoon too but in the morning it’s awe like. In my opinion, through my woods, in my back yard.

So, today I was excited to open my news page. To hear that the rest of the world had a bit of sunshine too. Nope, those reporters told the sad bad stories. I know that’s their jobs but today couldn’t they have put a spin on them.

At least mention the flowers in the courtyard where the bombings occurred.
Tell me about the trees with the birds by the company that is going bankrupt.
Let me imagine how pretty it is when they get out of their car to go to work at the company that had below normal forecasts, just today please.

Tomorrow they can be gloomy. Not today. The sun is out at my house. That doesn’t happen all the time. Today the world needs to put a positive spin on things.

Oh, and the cats say MEOW … they love it when the sun is out. They ask to go outside and of course I say no. If you read about my Lilly Ann, you know why.

Hope you all have a PURRFECT Fryday. It’s spelled that way cause the kittens get special canned kitty food on Frydays. And, Yes they are spoiled. Like every furrball should be.

It’s a Wow Meow Kind of Day.

Sunday Morning

It’s a bright sunny Sunday morning. Really nice to see. I’ve been waiting for Spring to actually arrive. It’s been hinting with a tulip and a hyacinth.

A warm Spring day. That is what I’ve been waiting for. The kind where you don’t have to wear a sweater cause you aren’t chilled at all when the wind blows at you. The kind where the sun in your face makes you feel young again. The kind where it’s not too hot .. it’s just right.

The fresh smell in the morning when I let the girls go outside. The dew is still there but as I make my coffee and look out the window, the yellow is coming though the trees in my yard. Not just a, I might show up, it’s already arrived.

I can’t express to you how thrilling it is to me and yes, I’m using ‘thrilling’ again. I like that word.

I live in the clouds. Really, I do. It rains a lot where I live but I’m used to it. Been here all my life. Moss green has become my favorite shade of blue.

In the Spring & Summer, my clouds aren’t as busy. They float to Montana or Canada just to give me a break. I think they know that I appreciate their uniqueness but that I could use some of that hidden glow.

The birds also sing to me in the Spring. The words are hard to make out but they are telling me about the glory of the air, wind and flight. Oh, to flutter around like they do. Just for a day. To come back to my normal life and not tell anyone what I did. The feeling of knowing the unknown. The grandness of it.

So, on this Sunny Sunday morning, I plan on working in my yard. I did some yesterday but that chilly wind blew at me and my blue sweater came on. When the sun went behind the clouds, it was back to being a cool Saturday. Today, I have the hope that it will be nice all day.

Coffee, Sunshine, Birds Singing, A Siamese mewing at me … I like the possibilities of this Spring Sunday Morning.

There comes a time in your life when you walk away from all of the drama and the people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for those who don’t. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is part of life, getting back up is living.
