Purrfect Quiet

I have a thing for blue eyes.
This cutie was too much for me to pass.

~ ~ ~
It's been a quiet week.
Sunny days.
Slight breeze.
Birds flying.
Eagles too.

A bit of clouds and rain
have arrived.
It's actually nice to
clear the air a bit.

Been a purrfect Summer
and the pretending
continues on.

Til next week,

I Know It

~ ~ ~
Been an interesting week.
Lots of quiet times.
Noise of a different type.

Life is just slower here.
Don't really know why.

I'm guessing due to no real things
that I have to do.
No appointments.
No times that have to be met.

Just the quiet of the water.
A Seagull here.
An Eagle there.
A Crane standing on the edge of the shore.
A Seal visiting the buoys.

Now, that's excitement.
I watch from the deck,
if the rains are gone.
From the kitchen window,
if it's too windy and cold.

Cars come and go.
Not a lot though.

Usually, I'm in my woods.
The road is way out there.
Here, it's just down the driveway.
It's the water part of the yard
that is so quiet.

Yesterday, I walked the beach.
Wasn't too cold or windy.
Looking for shells or anything cool
to pick up for my windows.

Only a few people and dogs
running about on the sandy shores.

Going to rain for a few days.
So, inside I will be.
Just me and the Purr and Fur Gang.

I live a good life.
And, I know it.

So Many Things

It's been one of those cloudy windy muggy sort of sunny weeks.
Today, in fact, seems like it might be rather nice.
You have to remember that I live in rainy ville.
Any of that yellow stuff and I get too excited.
That crazy racing heart of mine goes oh my.
Seriously, it really does.
The thoughts of what I can do outside take over.
So many things.

Do I love dirt ?
Not really but so be it.
Gloves waiting in the bucket.
New Miracle Grow smiling at Johnny Jump Up.
Yes, I have plans.
Do I have photos for you .. no.

Been busy this week.
My quiet world is gone.
My D got home last week.
My Son tomorrow.
(my D just graduated from her University
and my son is now a Junior at his.)
They make a lot of noise.
They take over my quiet.
I want it back .. my quiet world.

Thinking Out Loud

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
It's been quiet.
Just me and the purr and fur gang and my thoughts.
The weather has been entertaining to say the least.
Wind, yucky stuff from the trees everywhere.
Hail storms that freeze and look like it snowed in April.
Sun that decides to shine at all of us.
Big smile from me and the purr and fur gang for that.
Birds that wake me up later than the gang would like.
Jodie Belle likes to get me up early early early.
Think Collie nose checking to see if I am a wake.
She's a silly little girl.

Since I am feeling a bit better,
I now have time to figure out what's next.
I have two months before I have to go back
to my favorite hospital for tests and results.

I look around this old house and I see a million things
that need to be cleaned or thrown away or just done.

My two kids are coming home soon from college.
I've been cleaning up a bit due to their arrival.

I've been thinking about my life.
What to do and not and that kind of thing.

In a purrfect world, I'd never get sick again.
Would be able to walk and hike without pain.
Oh, that's a big dream right there.
Not going to happen but I can still put it on the list.

In a purrfect world, I'd be happy.
I'm not really.
I think the six weeks of recovery and the months before
did me in emotionally and physically of course.
I'm tired and don't know what I want to do.

I'd love to go to the Ocean for a bit
but who who take care of the purr and fur gang.
Maybe those kids that are coming home.
That's my thought.
I'll take my time driving there.
It's about four hours away.
That's one thought.

Only when I get done, I have to come back
and that's where I need to work on the
being happy part.

Like I said, it's a mental thing.
Got to work on it.
Improving myself.
Hard to believe that at my age,
I'm not thrilled with who I am.

I wish I were a member of the purr gang.
They seem happy most of the time
except when Riley is chasing
 Meredith Ann and Jasmine.
Then there's a lot of screaming going on.

I'm good at yelling.
See, I could be a cat.
Siamese or Torie, please.

Just thinking out loud over here in the woods.

Quiet Monday

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
It's Monday and it's very very quiet.
Just me and the purr and fur gang.

I took my son back to his University on Friday.
My daughter flew away on Sunday.

Last night, I was tired.
I noticed it a bit.
This morning, I couldn't sleep.
Got up around four.
Noticed it again.

Both doors were open
with just a cat napping
 on each of their beds.

So, today it is quiet.
Will be that way for quite a while.

Phone calls of course but mostly
it will be me and the Purr and Fur Gang
while we enjoy our woods.

A time when I will get used to many things.
One being that my Dear Maddy Jean
is probably on her way to another place.

I got home from my long drive to and from
taking my son to school .. five hours each way,
to a message from our vet.

The cancer expert feels that Maddy Jean's
cancer may have spread due to it being
such a nasty type of cancer.

I'm supposed to get x rays and other
tests done on her to see what's going on.

I'll get an estimate for that soon.

Today, I take her in to get her stitches out.
She has healed for sure in the big incision.
The smaller one .. and by small I mean five inches,
is sort of healed.

I will do the tests later.
For now, I just want to enjoy my Maddy Jean
while we sit in the woods watching Jodie Belle
play and remember what the quiet things in
life are all about.

I think if I lose my Maddy Jean
I will not be able to make it.
I just can't even believe that this has happened.

And, as I type this, I am again crying.
For the puppy I bought home,
the promises I made her,
that she would be safe now.
I lied.

Quiet Of The Start

This is Lilly Ann.
 My true love.
She was six when she past away.
My heart still hurts when I see her photos.
She was a very feral Lynx Point Siamese.
We had the love that only comes around once or twice in life.
When she died, a part of me went with her.
Just thought I'd share her baby photo.
~ ~ ~
I'm up early.
Having coffee in my multi colored cats mug.
Jodie Belle and Maddy Jean have gone out back.
Come in and are snoozing again.

Me, I've been checking up on mail.
Playing a few games.
Being bitten by Meredith Ann.
Yes, she bit my foot.
Silly girl that she is.

It's quiet.
Which I actually like.
Too much noise gets to me.

I like to think.
Always have.
I go over things.
Looking at them again.

It's one of those mornings.
Me, my coffee and my thoughts.

Saturday at The Big Lake

I am still not at home
In the woods
Instead I am looking out
At the Inlet
What I call
The BIG LAKE
The tide has been in
Most of the days
I've been here
Which is ok
Cause the weather
Has been just a
Bit nasty

The loons are on the big lake
Man those feathers
Must be like a
fleece jacket while camping
add the green tarp overhead
You get my image

Ashton is on the counter
Jasmine is by the door
Meredith is upstairs in the hall
Baby Kitty Riley was by the couch
And, Big Al .. I think he is on the bed

I have taken photos but not set up
to download them here
So, imagine
Quiet
Peace
You got it
Just a slight bit of wind
bouncing the green bough
That hangs just outside
The reach

And, on that visual note
I will drink my delic coffee
And, wish you all
An absolutely PURRfect Day

For Today

It’s a semi cloudy Saturday morning.

The birds are singing.

Ashton is snoozing on his scratching post.

I’m having coffee in my “I survived” cup.

I hear Baby Kitty going up the stairs
.
His bell gives him away.

The boys, husband and son, are out driving.

Son has his permit and Husband takes him out early in the mornings when there aren’t too many cars.

This past week I’ve been kind of quiet.

Not sure why.

I sat on the back porch with my dogs.

Read my book.

Enjoyed the sounds of my woods.

Since my coma, I have a peace about me.

I have it and I need it.

I get frustrated with people.

What they do and what they say.

I just don’t have the time or the willingness to put up with them.

I don’t think I did before but I really don’t now.

It’s like I know something that they just don’t get.

Almost like they never will.

I was in my coma for over a week.

I don’t remember any of that time.

I have a feeling of Peace and I am searching for that in my life.

So, some weeks I just don’t feel like leaving my safe haven that I’ve made for myself.

My world of purrballs and birds.

Maybe next week, I’ll venture out into the crazy noisy world.

Maybe next week, I’ll be able to handle the bumps and wildness out there.

For today, I’m having coffee with my dogs and cats.

For today, I’m enjoying the sounds of birds and planes in the sky.

For today, I’m making plans to work on projects for this old house.

For today, I’m listening to what my mind is telling me I need.

I hope you all enjoy this Purrfect Saturday,
There comes a time in your life when you walk away from all of the drama and the people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for those who don’t. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is part of life, getting back up is living.
