Spring In The Woods

It's the first day of Spring.
It rolled in with a big storm.
Rain and wind.
Blowing it's way through my woods.
Now, the sun has come out.
Birds are singing.
Asking me why the suet is on the ground
instead of hanging from the tree.
The wind.
It blew it down with a swirl.
~ ~ ~
Jodie Belle has been going in and out.
Doesn't seem to mind the rain.
It's the wind she doesn't like,
Her ears point up
and she gives me the Mom look.
I'm supposed to know all.
I wish I did.
~ ~ ~
This week my world has improved.
Compared to the last one,
this is like night and day.
I have hope that this old body
just might fool them all.
I'll walk away, once again,
with a big sign that says,
She survived.
One can hope.
Which I do.
~ ~ ~
This ordeal, has changed me.
This life or death stuff usually does.
Small things.
Hope.
The dare to do that.
Reality.
Hospitals.
Good and bad nurses.
The reality of this trip.
And, through it all, I still want to continue.
If I am lucky enough.
Three more weeks.
My last mini surgery.
And, maybe, just maybe, this worked.
Won't know for a while.
If this didn't, then I'll have to have
a removal surgery.
Til I know, I will pretend.
That this did work.
That all the pain was worth it.
Again, that's where hope comes in.
~ ~ ~
I plan on drinking coffee.
Watching the wind blow my woods.
Thanking Meredith Ann and her crew
for taking such good care of me.
Couldn't have done it without
my Purr and Fur Gang.
They took turns.
In the worst days,
I'd wake to one cat
and then another.
As if, they knew it was their day.
Like I said,
couldn't have made it this far
with out them.
~ ~ ~
And, that's my views
and updates
and just plain version
of the arrival of Spring
in my woods.

Watching Dogs Run

~ ~ ~
The storm has past.
Today has white mixed with blue.
The warmth within the house is nice.
Not muggy and not too cold.
I've already sat outside in my rocking chair.
Made my 'to do' list while watching the girls.
They ran around and danced together.
Such cute girls I have.
Al and Ashton are on my bed.
Waiting for the sun to arrive.
The windows will let them have several
spots to sit in and nap with warmth.
Me, I'm still getting better.
In pain but manageable.
Not on meds for now.
I have them in case I need them though.
This week, I'm taking off.
No plans.
So, as I look at my Purr and Fur Gang,
I hope you have as nice a day as
I think I'll have.

Wednesday In The Woods

Meredith Ann asking to go outside a few days ago
when it was too hot for her to go out.
I wait til she's in the shade as she get too hot with all her furs.
~ ~ ~
It's a cloudy muggy day.
The black birds are talking.
The smaller birds are visiting.
Riley and Ashton are napping by the windows.
One eye ready to view their beloved tv.

Jodie Belle is on the rug.
Toys near her.
A can, a penguin, an old baseball mitt.

The rest of the Purr and Fur Gang
are napping on couches or beds.

It's been a very active morning.
Thus, the quiet nap time.

Me, I'm having peach ice tea
in a very cute cat cup.
My newest one.
I have several.

I'm on ice. Literally.
It's what gets me through the day.
I'm off of pain meds. For now.
Who knows what tomorrow will bring.

I am getting a few things done.
Today, not as much as I'd like.

There are times when I am sad.
This health situation is not easy.
If it was just one thing, but no, it's several.

I'm going to my primary care Doctor
end of this week.
I hope she can tell me if my heart
problems are no big deal,
which I am hoping for,
or if I need to see another specialist.

I've made an appointment with
my spine Doctor.
He's very busy so it's not for a while.

I hope I'm not still on ice by then.
I am looking for advice.
Something he can do other than surgery.

Til then, I'm going to have up and down days.
This being unable to stand on one's leg
is a real bummer.

And, the rest of my Summer.
Probably will be spent sitting a lot.
On ice a lot.
Using my cane to walk.

I do not want any surgeries.
Not anymore til October.
Yes, that's my next kidney surgery.

Fun times .. no not really.

For today though, I drink in
the beauties in the woods
and in my house.

The best thing I ever did
was get these seven balls of fur.
That and this delic iced tea.

Enjoy !!!

The Simple Things

~ ~ ~
It's a quiet Saturday afternoon.
The sun was out for a while.
Just enough to tempt me into going out back.
I sat with my new cat cup filled with coffee.
The girls, Maddy Jean and Jodie Belle, were playing.
Meredith Ann was on her leash chewing grass.
Me, I sat on the steps,
thinking and taking in the delights of my woods.
The sounds are too much.
Trying to figure out who is talking to who.
Which bird flew to that tree.
Just a wild bunch I have in my woods.
Nice to be able to walk out there.
As of yesterday, I am no longer using my cane.
Not here at home.
My day surgery last week has done wonders.
I don't have sharp pain when I stand on my leg.
It's still a bit like rubber and not totally dependable
but, I do think that I am good as can be expected.
I've been busy going to other appointments.
This time for my kidney problems that were
discovered in my mri for my spine.
The ct done this week showed a lot more than I wanted.
Yesterday, I got a call that my Dr. wants to get me in
for kidney surgery as soon as possible.
I am being handed over to the surgery nurse.
Next week I will start the process of scheduling the when and where
and tests that might need to be done before.
If all goes well, I'll only be in the hospital a day or two.
See why I haven't had time to write.
Been having too much fun going here, there and everywhere.
My family wonders how I'm coping with all of this at the same time.
Not much else I can do but enjoy the day.
Worry about tomorrow another day.
So, on this sort of sunny Saturday,
I enjoy the simple things that bring me great joy.
My Purr and Fur Gang,
Coffee,
and The Sounds in My Woods.

My Sweet Puppy

This sweet dog.
I love her.
She is ok.
Her surgery was done later in the day.
I called at two and she was in surgery.
Thus, when I picked her up around five,
she was a bit out of it.
My sweet puppy.
Where did time go ?
She managed when she got home.
I told Riley to watch his doggy.
(Riley is my orange wild cat and
he loves and I mean LOVES his doggy)
Maddy Jean slept on my bed all night.
I hope she feels better today.
She had her teeth cleaned and a tumor removed.
That didn't cost much,
Oh, yes it did.
They did add in a toe nail clip
so, it was a deal.
My Sweet Puppy.

Thoughts On A Rainy Day

Big Al When It Was Sunny
It's a cold wet Wednesday.
Yucky, don't want to go outside in it kind of day.
Fall has really arrived.
Big Al has been upstairs on the soft blanket.
He comes down to visit in the meowning
but goes to take his cozy naps on his blanket.
I know, it belongs to the cats.
He and Ashton blend in so well
(it's dark brown and very fuzzy)
that I sometimes don't see them.
Two boys will look up at me
when I walk into the room.
I just say, Hello Boys
How's your day going.
They blink there eyes and ask for pets.

I've been busy looking for a new friend for Maddy Jean.
Was trying to find a rescue dog.
One that was older and liked cats and dogs.
It's really hard to find someone that fits
into what I need for my home.
I did apply for three and
someone else adopted them before I could.
So, now I'm looking at getting a collie puppy.
I know, it's not a rescue, I know.
I had collies as a child.
My first dog was named Chrissy Collie.
After that we had Lovely Lady and Shadow.

All I know is I need a friend for Maddy Jean.
I need another fur ball to wiggle and brings me toys.
If I find a rescue, then great.
If not, than I will get a collie.
Maybe I could get both.

That is my update on this rainy day.

Saturday Update

Riley Update

He went in and got two more rays done this meowning.
Things look a bit better.
He is home now.
Looking at bird tv.
Tests results will be back on Tuesday.
Doesn't look like we will need to do surgery.
Unless, the specialist finds something.
What a wild couple of days these have been.

Wednesday Words

Bella is doing fine.
Not in too much pain now.
Still has to go out back with her leash on.
Maddy Jean gets too excited.
 We now have a routine.
We let Maddy out first.
When she's done
we put her in the laundry room.
 She thinks she's going somewhere.
Not to worry it's a
sort of big laundry room.
I take Bella outside on her leash flashlight in hand.
She can't do her business close to the house.
No, we walk, or hobble on three legs,
to the side yard and visit
the azaleas by the fence.
At least now I know why it takes
her so long to come back in the
house in the morning.
Then, breakfast ..
oh and I let Maddy Jean out of her room and back
outside cause she thinks she's going somewhere.
It's been almost a week and
my Dear Golden hasn't caught on yet.
Do you think I can keep this up for eight weeks ?

Meds are next.
 Bella loves them.
 NOT ...
it's either cheese surprize or down the hatch I go.

Made her appt for her stitches to be removed.
 Won't that be fun.

I've been a bit under the weather the last few days.
Let's just say it's one of my
many things that can go wrong with me.

So, I will blog with you all when
I'm back to my crabby cheery self ...
If You don't hear from me
I'm in the backyard with Bella...

Yes, I had fun ...

It's a semi nice Sunday
Weather is muggy
Birds are singing
Jasmine Marie is mewing at me by the puter
I cleaned out a bit of my closet
Old dresses from before I had my daughter
Seriously
I really liked them
Couldn't let them go
How silly of me
They were a size ten
And, I thought
Maybe I'd get back in those
They even have padded shoulders
Are they back in ?
Read some sad stories about animal abuse
Told my six fur kids
How lucky they were to have a home
Mr. Boatman is back in our time zone
I kept him up til ten last night
Waking him up every time he fell a sleep
Yes, I had fun
Oh, I'm still feeling ok
A twing here & there but nothing
A pain patch can't help with
Here's hoping you're having
A Super Sunday

Crazy Manic Monday

Monday MEOWning Updates

I had a Marvelous Birthday Celebration at the Ocean.
Got a new Cannon SR10 IS as my Old Lady Birthday Gift
Tried to take a few photos
Do I ever have a lot to learn about photography

My oldest teenager went back to college last night
My youngest teenager goes back to school next week
I think I finally have all of his 'stuff' taken care of at his school
(they goofed his schedule & I had to do emails back & forth)
Mr. Boatman is going away for a week in a few hours

The siding installers are supposed to show up any minute
The Girls ... Maddy Jean & Bella .. refuse to 'to their business' before the group of workers arrive

My Hip is still hurting. I can't bend over without yelling ... and that is so much fun ... kidding

Cats are doing ok. Riley has been sneezing. Someone is leaving me 'gifts' to clean up after breakfast

My email system is not working ... giving me trouble ... saying it needs this or that ...

Thus, it's a Crazy Manic Monday ...
How's your Monday going ?
There comes a time in your life when you walk away from all of the drama and the people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for those who don’t. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is part of life, getting back up is living.
