It's the first day of Spring.
It rolled in with a big storm.
Rain and wind.
Blowing it's way through my woods.
Now, the sun has come out.
Birds are singing.
Asking me why the suet is on the ground
instead of hanging from the tree.
The wind.
It blew it down with a swirl.

Jodie Belle has been going in and out.
Doesn't seem to mind the rain.
It's the wind she doesn't like,
Her ears point up
and she gives me the Mom look.
I'm supposed to know all.
I wish I did.

This week my world has improved.
Compared to the last one,
this is like night and day.
I have hope that this old body
just might fool them all.
I'll walk away, once again,
with a big sign that says,
She survived.
One can hope.
Which I do.

This ordeal, has changed me.
This life or death stuff usually does.
Small things.
Hope.
The dare to do that.
Reality.
Hospitals.
Good and bad nurses.
The reality of this trip.
And, through it all, I still want to continue.
If I am lucky enough.
Three more weeks.
My last mini surgery.
And, maybe, just maybe, this worked.
Won't know for a while.
If this didn't, then I'll have to have
a removal surgery.
Til I know, I will pretend.
That this did work.
That all the pain was worth it.
Again, that's where hope comes in.
~ ~ ~
I plan on drinking coffee.
Watching the wind blow my woods.
Thanking Meredith Ann and her crew
for taking such good care of me.
Couldn't have done it without
my Purr and Fur Gang.
They took turns.
In the worst days,
I'd wake to one cat
and then another.
As if, they knew it was their day.
Like I said,
couldn't have made it this far
with out them.
~ ~ ~
And, that's my views
and updates
and just plain version
of the arrival of Spring
in my woods.
