Spring In The Woods

It's the first day of Spring.
It rolled in with a big storm.
Rain and wind.
Blowing it's way through my woods.
Now, the sun has come out.
Birds are singing.
Asking me why the suet is on the ground
instead of hanging from the tree.
The wind.
It blew it down with a swirl.
~ ~ ~
Jodie Belle has been going in and out.
Doesn't seem to mind the rain.
It's the wind she doesn't like,
Her ears point up
and she gives me the Mom look.
I'm supposed to know all.
I wish I did.
~ ~ ~
This week my world has improved.
Compared to the last one,
this is like night and day.
I have hope that this old body
just might fool them all.
I'll walk away, once again,
with a big sign that says,
She survived.
One can hope.
Which I do.
~ ~ ~
This ordeal, has changed me.
This life or death stuff usually does.
Small things.
Hope.
The dare to do that.
Reality.
Hospitals.
Good and bad nurses.
The reality of this trip.
And, through it all, I still want to continue.
If I am lucky enough.
Three more weeks.
My last mini surgery.
And, maybe, just maybe, this worked.
Won't know for a while.
If this didn't, then I'll have to have
a removal surgery.
Til I know, I will pretend.
That this did work.
That all the pain was worth it.
Again, that's where hope comes in.
~ ~ ~
I plan on drinking coffee.
Watching the wind blow my woods.
Thanking Meredith Ann and her crew
for taking such good care of me.
Couldn't have done it without
my Purr and Fur Gang.
They took turns.
In the worst days,
I'd wake to one cat
and then another.
As if, they knew it was their day.
Like I said,
couldn't have made it this far
with out them.
~ ~ ~
And, that's my views
and updates
and just plain version
of the arrival of Spring
in my woods.

I am so happy that this week is better for you and we are here hoping all worked too. You sure have some wonderful furry nurses looking after you. Hugs from all of us.

I, too, am happy to know that you are mending well. Good thing the whole gang knows to take turns; otherwise I'm afraid they would smother you with kisses and hugs. I guess worse things could happen...

I'm so sorry you've been ill. I think your attitude is a very healing one. And, as others have said, you have those wonderful furry nurses...

We, too, are glad you are feeling better, slowly improving. Fingers and paws crossed, Light and purrs, for your continued recovery.

Smooches to your fur family, who have taken such good care to you, and hugs to you.

JC what a warrior you are and certainly have been to hell and back with all your medical challenges!
Your strength and courage to overcome all these issues truly touch me.A true survivor against all odds, that who you are!!
I am pleased that you find comfort and healing in appreciating the small gifts of everyday life. Pets I feel provide holistic healing as they can sense stress energy we at times give off. Hearing the Purring =^.^= and just petting our pets provides much comfort and calmness which is a natural healing therapy in my opinion!
I continue to hold you in my thoughts and prayers.
I send warm hugs your way and wish you peace and wellness during this road to recovery.
love and light Anna xoxo

Thank you for your kind thoughts and words when Eric had to leave for the Rainbow Bridge. We miss him very much.

There comes a time in your life when you walk away from all of the drama and the people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for those who don’t. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is part of life, getting back up is living.
