It's almost December.

How did that happen ?

No, I mean it.

Today in the woods it's in the 20's.

Frozen and did not get warm enough.

The sun did come out.

The girls went out back.

I checked them every ten or so

to see if they'd become

frozen puppies in the woods.

They are now inside.

Warm and napping.

Dreaming of the Spring and Summer days.

I'm dreaming of those too.

 

The cookies above are what I make

during the Holiday Season.

Nothing fancy.

Just darn good.

Yum.

I don't usual bake.

Not my talent.

Cooking in general is not my thing.

Not that I wouldn't want to have that ability

to make a q tip into a shopping mall.

(think about it and let me know if you get this)

 

I seem to ruin most recipes.

Cookies, not so much.

 

Anyway, with it being so cold,

I thought of these and was shocked

that it was almost that time of year.

 

The leaves in the woods are almost gone.

Was actual pretty with them.

Was a nice Fall over here.

The cold now is a

yell out that it's almost Winter.

 

I hope it doesn't get too cold.

I don't mind it but not on the roads

or on the sidewalks.

I just want to look at it.

Ya know what I mean.

I also have to find my warm coat.

Jean jacket isn't thick enough for today.

Gloves, where are they.

I know I have some in the closet.

 

The cats are all napping.

Heater vent or soft blanket.

The girls are in the hall.

Me, I'm in the den.

I was watching bird tv.

I think I enjoy it more than these furry balls

that I set it up for.

Seriously, I swear I go eee eee eee.

Watching Dogs Run

The storm has past.

Today has white mixed with blue.

The warmth within the house is nice.

Not muggy and not too cold.

I've already sat outside in my rocking chair.

Made my 'to do' list while watching the girls.

They ran around and danced together.

Such cute girls I have.

Al and Ashton are on my bed.

Waiting for the sun to arrive.

The windows will let them have several

spots to sit in and nap with warmth.

Me, I'm still getting better.

In pain but manageable.

Not on meds for now.

I have them in case I need them though.

This week, I'm taking off.

No plans.

So, as I look at my Purr and Fur Gang,

I'm Not Happy

I took Jodie Isabella in to the vet

for her last set of shots just a bit ago.

I am not happy.

The technician that is at the front desk

and who also does the shots is

well just driving me crazy.

Any time I ask a question she answers

like she doesn't know anything about anything.

This has been going on since I got Jodie.

(This person is a recent hire.

Not who I have had in the past.)

I have previously wondered why they hired her.

I just don't get it.

On the phone she's the same way.

And, every time I take Jodie in for her shots,

I get this person.

And every time, she's still the same.
So it isn't that she's new to the job.

She forgets to put Jodie's weight on the paperwork.

I have to remind her and today just was the worst.

She tells me she's left handed

and has to have Jodie in this position or that position.

(This is the first time Jodie was big enough

to get her shots while on the floor

instead of on the exam table.)

She poked my baby three times.

Still couldn't get it in.

Had to get a new needle.

The next time with me helping

 I sort of held my hand down on Jodie's tail.

Jodie yelled

and all sorts of people came to see what happened.

This tech quickly says that I stepped on my dog.

I so wanted to say that this tech doesn't know what she's doing.

When she was done with the three shots,

 I had to remind her that Jodie needed her nails trimmed.

Then there was the talk about if I wanted to help her do it

or if it was ok to take Jodie in the back

so she could get some help doing it.

 I tell you I was so glad to get out of there.

Glad and mad.

Why do they hire someone like that ?

Now, I need to find a new vet.

I really can't take this anymore.

Today was it.

I can't trust my baby to this place.

I've been going there for over ten years.

I like the vet but who hires someone like this.

Seriously .. I won't have her touch my baby again.

I feel like telling this vet why I'm leaving

but he has so much business

that he wouldn't care and I'm sure

he'd think it was me and not his employee.

How do you find a good vet

for your babies ?

Seriously, I thought I had one

but now I don't.

Super Puppy or Friday Updates

This face is what I see when I get up in the morning.

I think about being quiet while I get up

so that maybe she won't hear me.

I might be able to feed the cats

and jump back in bed.

Nope, she is super puppy.

She hears everything.

In the hallway she waits.

 I go downstairs.

This is what I see.

She looks so sweet.

I let her outside.

Only this sweet super hearing puppy

wakes me up at two yesterday and today

.. pause for a moment ...

four thirty.

Yeah .. are we cheering for four thirty.

What ?

No accidents though so that is what matters .. right.

Who could be mad at this face ?

So, coffee in my Eeyore cup

is needed for sure.

And of course it's in an Eeyore cup,

doesn't everyone do that ?

Thoughts On Thursday

Yesterday, I went to get another can of paint.

That wasn't as easy as I thought it would be.

The guy at the counter asked me all sorts of questions.

I had the paint color in hand.

Mr. Boatman had told me to just get two more cans.

Easy. Right. Nope.

Did I want this one or that one ?

What ?

I just want the one like before.

Ends up it was harder than I thought.

When I said never mind,

I'll go back and get the can.

The guy brings up a can and asks me if it looked like this.

Yes, it did.

Seriously, did it need to be that hard.

After that I drove to the shopping center just down the road.

Went into Marshall's to look at things.

Cause as you know, it's just fun to do.

And, there at the end of the store

were the various dishes and plates.

This time, I saw something I just had to have.

A cup and saucer set.

The one I got is Rosemary.

I'm sure it's meant for tea

but this meowning it's being used for coffee.

I like it.

My sort of Heart Day gift to myself.

I did myself good.

Today, I go to my first ever

Star Puppy Class.

Yes, at my age,

I'm going to clean to sit, stay and come.

Not me really but Jodie Isabella.

I'm sure I'll learn a thing or two along the way though.

Today, I get to go by myself.

The place is down the big hill,

drive ten miles or so.

and find a big green building.

Into the unknown woods I go.

Happy Birthday Jodie

Today Jodie Isabella is three months old.

Isn't she just a doll !!!

As she naps by my feet,

I think of what our house is like now.

Maddy Jean is tired but happy.

They play together out back.

Jodie has learned to sit.

She almost knows her name.

We start puppy class next week.

The cats sort of like her.

Ok, they don't totally hate her.

I think it's going well.

So, Happy Three Month Birthday

to the cutest Collie in the world !!!

Mondays With Meredith Ann

You caught me in my office.

My life has been crazy busy.

That puppy takes all of Mom's time

so, I'm filling in for her.

Mom has let the puppy

go everywhere in the house.

She can't get up here though.

Riley and I are fine with her.

(With Mom saying 'NO' if she gets too close to us)

The older cats, Al, Ashton and Jasmine

aren't as cool as us.

They hide under the bed and hiss.

I guess you have to have a touch

of orange in your furs

to be a Cool Cat !!!

Heart On The Mend

Maddy Jean & Jodie Isabella looking out at the water

Last weekend, we went to our beach place.

First time since the big snow ice storm.

That area got eight to twenty inches of snow.

Yes, I said twenty.

(My area which is an hour away got six to ten)

No real damage except for the gate falling off

but that can be fixed.

This also was the first time we'd taken Jodie

to the beach since the first day we got her.

(She was on the state line which is

 about three hours away from the beach.

We picked her up and spent the night

and took her home the next day.)

She loved running around the yard with Maddy Jean.

At almost three months,

 she has taken to her new life well.

She loves Maddy Jean and her tail.

Maddy likes playing with her.

I can imagine the warmer days with them.

My Maddy Jean is better now.

She has a friend.

It wears her out but still

she has a friend.

It Sleeps !!!

This is Jodie Isabella.

I got her on January 1st.

She barked most of the first night.

Meaning that I got no real sleep.

I slept a bit better last night.

I believe I am too old for this.

Oh well, too late.

She really likes Maddy Jean.

Maddy sort of likes her.

I have her almost trained to go outside.

She cries for me when she needs to

go venture in the back yard.

Only it's three times in the middle of the night.

I'm having my first cup of coffee.

Listening to the garbage trucks.

Wondering if I will ever feel rested again.

We made up her first name.

Jo is from a cat I had twenty years ago.

Die is from the name of my first Golden Retriever.

And, Isabella is after my Sweet Sabrina Isabella.

I think we will end up calling her

Jodie Belle.)
