Wet Fall Day In The Woods

It is a wet yucky day in my woods.
Fall has arrived and it's moist.
Leaves all over the yard.
I even had to turn the heat on.
Just to warm the house up.

Meredith is near the vent.
She loves keeping warm.

Jodie Belle is wet.
She goes out each morning.
No matter what kind of weather.
Her furs curl up.
Collie's do that.
She's on her blanket on the chair looking out the window.
Not the kind of day you play in.
Maybe later, she and Maddy Jean
will go play in the wet dirt.
Oh, won't that be fun to clean up.
I greet them at the door with paper towels
to clean up those paws.
 Coffee in my cat cup.
Having lots of little cups.
Having trouble waking totally up.
Maybe it's just the dark wet day.

Fall .. again, I say, where did Summer go ?

Sleep

~ Z zzzz Z ~

Sleep what is it ?
Real deep sound
Eyes don't open til six
Where is it ?
I don't think I'd know it if I saw it.

My person whom I live with snores.
And, that's being nice.
A big truck that fires all night long.
Add in a cold and no sleep.
 NONE.

I gave up and went to another room.
Threw this and that off of it.
In I went with a blanket and a Collie pup.
Later, the old Golden found us.

Only my snug as a bug in another
 bed didn't last long.
The pup was confused.
Wasn't I supposed to be in the other room ?
That's when the I'm confused barking started.
Which woke up the snoring machine down the hall.

I have had a lot of coffee
in my Crazy Cat Lady cup.
Yes, I own one of those.
Thank you to another cat lady friend.
It holds a lot of coffee.
Not enough for today though.

I have an appointment at eleven.
How can I ?
I don't own enough makeup
to cover up these old wrinkled bags.

Sleep .. What is it ?

Thoughts On Thursday

I spend my early meowning hours
having freshly brewed coffee while
enjoying the sounds of life.
My new Keurig machine makes
the nicest smelling drinks.
I sit in the den sipping while I check
what the world was up to while I slept.
Always some sort of fighting going on somewhere.
Odd stories about odd things.
Sometimes a story about something grand.
While I'm updating myself, I hear my world.
The sounds of a puppy chewing on a box.
Why she still likes that I don't know
but every morning she finds it.
It's an old file folder.
Purrfect for her to carry around.
She even puts her long nose in it.
This meowning, I also heard
the flock of Canadian Geese
that seem to do fly byes over my woods.
I love their sound.
Brings absolute joy to my heart.
The other sounds are the washer humming in the other room.
That Rough Collie is still learning to wait til I get up.
Oh well, we are almost there.
She's a smart one this pup.
That's what my meownings are like.
I make breakfast for my girls while
they visit the darkness of their yard.
The little one is so excited to eat.
She's brought the youthfulness back to my older one.
Later, after they finish is when she visits with me.
She loves to be near me.
After she's tired of her toys, she asks to be held.
We do the Mom and Jodie love time.
For those few moments, my heart heals and melts.
She has brought me back.
She has healed my soul.
She has brought meaning to this old lady in the woods.
So, Maddy Jean and I will survive.
The cats aren't sure about her.
It will take more time.
Change always does.
And those are my thoughts on this
Thursday in the woods.

Thoughts On A Rainy Day

Big Al When It Was Sunny
It's a cold wet Wednesday.
Yucky, don't want to go outside in it kind of day.
Fall has really arrived.
Big Al has been upstairs on the soft blanket.
He comes down to visit in the meowning
but goes to take his cozy naps on his blanket.
I know, it belongs to the cats.
He and Ashton blend in so well
(it's dark brown and very fuzzy)
that I sometimes don't see them.
Two boys will look up at me
when I walk into the room.
I just say, Hello Boys
How's your day going.
They blink there eyes and ask for pets.

I've been busy looking for a new friend for Maddy Jean.
Was trying to find a rescue dog.
One that was older and liked cats and dogs.
It's really hard to find someone that fits
into what I need for my home.
I did apply for three and
someone else adopted them before I could.
So, now I'm looking at getting a collie puppy.
I know, it's not a rescue, I know.
I had collies as a child.
My first dog was named Chrissy Collie.
After that we had Lovely Lady and Shadow.

All I know is I need a friend for Maddy Jean.
I need another fur ball to wiggle and brings me toys.
If I find a rescue, then great.
If not, than I will get a collie.
Maybe I could get both.

That is my update on this rainy day.

Mondays With Meredith Ann

We had a lot of muggy sun last week.
Mom took me outside almost everyday.
This photo is what Mom calls
one of the last sunny days we'll have for a while.
I made the most of it.
This is my big sister, Maddy Jean.
She's in her den with her toys.
She has become my best friend.
We go outside together.
Don't tell anyone that I like a dog ok.

Mom is busy trying to find her a friend.
She is still a sad puppy.
Do you see that face ?
Who wouldn't want to play with her ?

Mom is looking for a collie.
She wants to rescue one
but if she can't find one she'll get a puppy.
She's been looking everyday.
No one yet but I'm helping her so
I'm sure it won't take too long
to find a friend for my friend.

I'll let you all know if we get one.
I'm sure there will be a very loud
MEOW
from the cats in this house.

Til next week,
~ Meredith Ann ~
There comes a time in your life when you walk away from all of the drama and the people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for those who don’t. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is part of life, getting back up is living.
