Wednesday In The Woods

Meredith Ann asking to go outside a few days ago
when it was too hot for her to go out.
I wait til she's in the shade as she get too hot with all her furs.
~ ~ ~
It's a cloudy muggy day.
The black birds are talking.
The smaller birds are visiting.
Riley and Ashton are napping by the windows.
One eye ready to view their beloved tv.

Jodie Belle is on the rug.
Toys near her.
A can, a penguin, an old baseball mitt.

The rest of the Purr and Fur Gang
are napping on couches or beds.

It's been a very active morning.
Thus, the quiet nap time.

Me, I'm having peach ice tea
in a very cute cat cup.
My newest one.
I have several.

I'm on ice. Literally.
It's what gets me through the day.
I'm off of pain meds. For now.
Who knows what tomorrow will bring.

I am getting a few things done.
Today, not as much as I'd like.

There are times when I am sad.
This health situation is not easy.
If it was just one thing, but no, it's several.

I'm going to my primary care Doctor
end of this week.
I hope she can tell me if my heart
problems are no big deal,
which I am hoping for,
or if I need to see another specialist.

I've made an appointment with
my spine Doctor.
He's very busy so it's not for a while.

I hope I'm not still on ice by then.
I am looking for advice.
Something he can do other than surgery.

Til then, I'm going to have up and down days.
This being unable to stand on one's leg
is a real bummer.

And, the rest of my Summer.
Probably will be spent sitting a lot.
On ice a lot.
Using my cane to walk.

I do not want any surgeries.
Not anymore til October.
Yes, that's my next kidney surgery.

Fun times .. no not really.

For today though, I drink in
the beauties in the woods
and in my house.

The best thing I ever did
was get these seven balls of fur.
That and this delic iced tea.

Enjoy !!!

Beach Sunday

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
I've been sort of relaxing here at the
beach place for almost two weeks.
It's not really an Ocean beach
more an oyster, sand, inlet beach.
Sometimes when the tide is up,
it's what I call the big lake.
Other times you can walk the
shoreline and look at shells and crabs.
If the tide is way out, you can find
rows of sand dollars hidden in the mud.
It's a bit odd but still fun.
All of this is of course assuming one can walk
which I can sort of but not well enough
to get to the beach area.
So, no sea shells searching for me.
Sad face.

The cats have enjoyed being on the deck.
They sit in the sun or shade for hours.
Riley Andrew is the only one that can't
be outside as he always finds a way to
jump off and land on the yard below.

We tried yesterday with him but it's
a constant watching, walking back and
forth project with him always trying to
jump off and me having to spray him with
water til I get him to go back inside.

The dogs have had too much fun.
Out on the deck playing with their toys.
Down on the back lawn playing and
going to the lower yard to watch
people and boats and deer.

There's also the barking adventures
with the neighbor dogs down the road.

They don't get that kind of action
at our house in the woods.

I'd like to say that all is well.
I can't really.
My leg is better.
I can walk longer.
I can stand on it longer.
Can I go to the grocery store by myself ?
No not yet.

I am still hopeful.
I'm not as upset.
Being at a peaceful place helps.

And, back to the city or woods, I go.
The cats will be indoor again
except for Meredith Ann.
The dogs will be in the back yard woods.

Me, I'll be trying to drive.
I'll be starting up on new Dr. appts.
I'll be thinking of my quiet times.
All the while hoping,
always hoping,
that this old cat lady body heals.

Enjoy your Sunday,
Stay cool,

We all are ...

I just saw the promo for Pretty Woman. I love that show. Try to watch it anytime it appears on the screen. Vivian was a young naive wounded woman and everyone could relate to her. Anyone of us could end up like her. Not necessarily being a working girl but in a bad job living on nothing. When we find that one person who can lift us out of our outrageous world, it seems like a dream. We have stepped out of our normal days and into this airy daylight. We can pretend if only for a few hours or a couple of days. Before you know what happens, we like what we are doing. The daily routine becomes better than we thought it would. It could be our new norm. Don’t let it overcome you. The new us. That is what it would be or could be like. That is what any new chance is about. Being who you’ve always known you could be. Whether it was to be loved or to love or to just wear a fancy necklace or send a shell flying at someone at a very important dinner. We were all Vivan and we still are. At least I am.

Wish & Hope

It's dark out
The lights are shining
The tree looks festive
Festive seems to be my word for the week
Been typing that one a lot

I use the word Holiday too
Just seems to fit better than Christmas
With all the different beliefs in this world
Celebrating the Fun of the Season
The joy of bright things
The hope of fresh starts

I enjoy the colors
Red, Blue, a bit of Green
White is nice too
A light pink
Ooh, that's good too
(like LeAnn's tree)

My hope is for the two boys
Still at PetSmart
To get a Forever Home
I went there yesterday for supplies
(my litter scoop broke .. which is an E mer Gen Cy)
OK, it did but I just had to see if my push here on my blog
Had gotten them a new home
So, Please continue to mention them
Maybe we can get them a home for the New Year

It's quiet
I like it
I always have

Mr. Boatman & my daughter
Fly into town
On Saturday

They make lots of
NOISE

Til then I will enjoy
My coffee with my two girls
Snoozing by me
My five purr balls
And, my wish for good things
To happen to all of us

I wish for that
Everyday

As the darkness
Gives way to the light
Of the new day

I wish & hope
Over here in my
House in the woods

Lilacs In My Back Yard

The Lilac bush is my back yard has two possibilities.

Maybe it's because I've started this blog.
Maybe it's just cause Nature wants me to actually have Lilacs that bloom.
Either way, I was so excited that I got the camera and walked out
to my disastrous back yard which is filled
with weeds and stickers...black berry pokee things.

Two Lilacs with a tree and weeds.
Rhody and Golden Retriever and old swing set.

I also took pics of my two Rhody's ... cause I was out there
and I was in the mood to shoot the lovely blooms.

There comes a time in your life when you walk away from all of the drama and the people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for those who don’t. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is part of life, getting back up is living.
