Mondays With Meredith Ann

It was sunny.
I was chilling.
Mom said my tail was wagging.
~~~~
I guess I was relaxing after
the busy week we had.
Mom had the yard crew
working at both places.
The boy graduates
from High School
this Friday.
I've been staying close
to his puter to make
sure he gets
everything done.
So, as you can see
I deserved to
take an afternoon
nap on the rocking chair.
Til next week,
This is
Mondays With Meredith Ann
I've been so busy.
Mom needed help in the yard.
I walked around and gave advice.
The grass tasted good.
The front porch plants smelled nice.
Rosemary is what she called them.
Mom is having the yard fixed.
She says I'll like my walks better.
I like them fine now but whatever.
 Mom set it up for me to sort of
walk about on my own.
Do you see the rope attached to my blue leash ?
Can you guess what Mom has me tied to ?
You won't believe it.
~ ~
As you can see, the sun was out.
I went for five walks.
Yes, five.
~ ~
I waited by the window this morning
but Mom said no walks today.
Something about the yard people
working to take the weeds away.
Next week I'll let you know
how my new yard looks.
~ ~
By the way, are you jelly of my blue leash ?
I think I look pretty cool in it.
Til Next Week,
(After all this hard work,
I think I'll take a few naps.)
I wish I was Miss Daisy
I went to Costco yesterday. Mr. Boatman signed us up two weeks ago. (We were members a long time ago. They moved & we just didn't go anymore. Been five or more years. Mr. Boatman decided we should join .. again. Who am I to say no to shopping.)
As I was walking around with my cart, I past by a huge display of bulbs. Daffodils, Hyacinths, Tulips .. I just wanted to take them home with me.
It's the SEASON FOR PLANTING BULBS ..
I put a lot of them in our wooded yard .. when we first moved here ... some fifteen years ago. Due to the wooded environment & the visiting animals, my bulbs don't survive. I have replanted a few times but the dirt here is hard & rocky. Mr. Boatman always has to buy me new dirt & well, it's a big old tiring process.
So, yesterday I just walked on by the bags of beauties. What a shame. I wish I was Miss Daisy and had my own personal assistant who I could tell ... please plant these for me. Oh, I do ... it's Mr. Boatman.
Only he's busy. What's with that ? Doing what you may ask ... and you did ... didn't you ? Working ... figuring out his work situation .. not good ... he decided to quit & start somewhere else. Always a scary situation. Busy day yesterday. (We want Mr. Boatman to be happy & he wasn't)
Anyway, back to the bulbs ... do you think in between figuring out life ... that he could help me plant a few ... just three or so bags ... to add a pinch of color ... I'll be thinking about that today ... his birthday is this month and he doesn't know what he wants ... wa la ... flowers that bloom in Spring ... PURRFECT IDEA ...
Do you plant bulbs each year ?
What do you have ... daffs, tulips, hyacinths ?
Nice Spring Day
It was a really nice Spring day.
Cold in the morning but got warmer.
Warm for me is in the 60's.
I was able to be in the back yard with my dogs.
Today no matter what I said, they had me at bark. I tell them that I won't sit out with them unless the sun is out or it's over 40. Out I went. They like me to be out there with them.
I talk to them and they play. My younger dog explores her jungle. And, I mean a jungle. Weeds and ferns. Trees and more trees. I counted one time and I think there are at least six types.
My oldest dog sits in her office better known as the top of the hot tub.
She looks out at the lower part of the jungle.
Barking when needed at a neighbor dog.
Sirens are so much fun.
If you are a dog that is.
I, being a dull human, don't enjoy the high pitch as much as my Labrador.
I watch the birds, butterflies .. when they are in season,
which hasn't arrived quite yet,
trees and leaves moving in the wind and clouds in the sky.
I guess I am part dog.
I did manage to venture out to the front yard.
The weeds are out there too.
I did get the barrels by the street cleared but my old shoulder told me that was enough.
I wish it wasn't old cause I do enjoy working in the yard.
My hope is that it will stop this silly achiness soon.
It's a real pain.
The weekend is supposed to be nice.
I'll take that instead of rain anytime.
There comes a time in your life when you walk away from all of the drama and the people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for those who don’t. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is part of life, getting back up is living.
