Stocking Stuffers and Snow

This is a pretty snow photo of Toronto taken from pinterest.
Not as nice as my back porch but still you get the idea
of the pretty dusting that I got .. not the inches this has.
Still think pretty.

I let the girls out and was a bit surprised

to see that we had a dusting of snow.

We don't get that often.

It fell for a bit.

Softly.

Stopped.

Supposed to do more later.

Is that the beginning of the Holiday or what ?

We get rain.

We get fog.

We get wind.

Snow.

We don't usually get that.

I went out and did a bit

of shopping yesterday.

Stocking stuffers.

Had a grand time

as the traffic was fine.

The store was crowded

but it's a strip mall type

shopping center.

Not the big mall 

that I have at home.

(I'm in a small town for the Holidays)

Snow Of Course

We got a HUGE SNOW STORM that blew in.

At the airport to drop my son off.

His plane had to be delayed just a bit.

Snowed big flakes for hours.

Now, though due to the March odd weather,

the sun is out and most of the snow has melted.

I was thinking it should have been green

instead of white .. considering the day and all.

Week Of Everything

~ ^ ..^ ~

This week has been really odd weather wise.

Snow .. three times and it's mid March.

Add in rain until my woods and yard are flooding.

Think mini pools everywhere.

Wind that blows branches off into my yard.

Hail that scared poor baby Jodie

 before I could get her in the house.

Now, it's sort of sunny. Not as cold as it was.

Was Spring just blowing in in a wild way ?

The cats have been napping by heater vents

or the occasional sun spot on the floor.

One time I left the windows open and had

to run to close them all in time.

Big Al wasn't happy with it at all.

Being my resident nap most the day cat.

He had to get up before his scheduled time.

Riley has been a love this week.

Asking for pets whenever he's not curled up napping.

Meredith Ann has been in heaven.

Her boy is home from college

and is spending lots of time with her.

She's one spoiled kitty this week.

Ashton has warmed up to Jodie.

No more constant growling when he sees her.

He is still pulling his furs out but it grows back in fast.

Jasmine has been napping a lot.

Maybe she's waiting for this weather to blow away.

Maddy Jean is a napper too.

In between playing with Jodie that is.

Me, I've been fighting my neck pain.

Nothing like a pinched nerve to remind one of their old age.

Add in my constant friend, Migraine

and well, this week has been lousy pain wise.

I've been drinking coffee like water.

Hoping it will do the trick.

Not yet but I'm still trying.

Been having trouble with my ability to keep my weight down.

Down .. let's go up is what my old body tells me.

Even joined an online group.

Will it help ? Cost enough. It better.

So, to all of you three or four who read my blog,

this is my Friday Update.

Not a bad week. Just an odd one.

So, here's to the nicer weather.

Hope the sun comes out.

The snow and hail don't return for a while.

The boy goes back to college and gets A's.

Hey, a Mom can hope can't she.

Spring brings Summer ...

I can't wait.

If I'm going to have daily headaches and

that lovely pain in the neck to keep me company,

I want it with a bit of that yellow stuff.

I know the Purr and Fur Gang would agree with me.

Weird

It snowed last night.

Then it froze.

The power went out.

What is with this weather ?

As I let Jodie and Maddy Jean out into the darkness,

I yelled at the weather clouds,

IT'S MARCH !!!

I have trees down .. again.

Here I was thinking it was almost Spring.

This is just weird weather for my part of the woods.

As I type this, it is snowing.
Small but still not welcome.
Pretty but it better not freeze.
It's mid March, I want sunshine not snow.
It is pretty though.

This is our front porch during the

snow and ice storm that hit our woods.

This tree was so bent over with ice

that we couldn't get out our door.

Usually, it's standing straight up in the air

letting the birds sit on it in the bedroom two down.

It's a very old tree.

Been with us since we moved in.

It's still bent over but we hope we can save it.

(Mr. Boatman said something about

ropes and tying it to the back deck.

It involves going over the house.)

This is the view from the driveway.

Mom walked through the house instead of the snow.

The tree has three parts and two of them went this way.

The other part went over the front porch.

Here's a photo of that puppy Mom got.

Ok, I have to admit that she's a little bit cute.

Mom had lots of photos of me on her phone

but the power outage goofed up the computer

and she's having trouble downloading those.

So, you will just have to imagine me

sitting in my bonus room away

from all this cold stuff.

A Note From Mom ~

We are almost melted.

Living surrounded by woods

it takes a long time to do that.

Once I get out of my long driveway,

the rest of the world seems normal.

I still have lots of snow in my yard

and the dogs are having fun in it.

Although, my older dog has had it

with walking on the ice.

The puppy just bounces over it.

The photos on the phone didn't download.

I'll have to find out from

Mr. Boatman who also happens

to be a computer nerd

what needs to be done.

We had two of our computers

totally crash and he rebuilt this one.

I hope to show you cute photos

of Meredith Ann next week.

We got some snow !!!

Living in the Pacific Northwest,

we can go years without it.

Nope, not this time.

Here the two dogs are playing in it.

Supposed to snow again tonight.

Maybe tomorrow too.

I live in the woods.

No one gets our roads cleared.

I'm set up in my bonus room.

Mom would have gotten a photo of me but,

I sit on the heater vent most of the time.

She tells me 'it' will go away soon.

I hope so.

Til then, I'll be waiting for nicer days

when I can convince Mom

to let me out for my walks.

I know .. I look amazing.

I've been busy helping Mom.

The Fur Gang

has been playing in the snow.

(Yes, even we got some.)

It seems to be flaking

a lot the last couple of weeks.

Maddy Jean loves to play in the snow.

Bella likes to come inside.

I even got to go for a walk

on the wild side.

Mom got me in quick.

(I wasn't supposed to go out.)

Quiet

Was that a bird ?

Yes, Riley it was.

~~~

It snowed yesterday

and the day before that

and the day before that.

Last night it did it again.

Not a lot but it keeps coming back.

This morning it is quiet

as can be outside.

No cars.

No noise.

Just a dog barking down the block.

The birds were looking for food.

Riley was helping and noticed them.

My cold was terrible yesterday.

I did get a good rest

so I feel a bit better today.

(one can hope that this

yucky thing will go away now)

Cats, Dogs, Snow & Cough Drops

It's been cold, snowy and now icy.

Snowed most of yesterday.

Not much stayed on the ground though.

Iced over for the rink effect.

More snow expected today.

I have a gigantic cold going on.

On day six.

Cough drops are my best friend.

While it snowed big time,

I drank tea and thought of Spring.

Moved all my big furniture

to the beach place over the weekend.

Now, I just have the Purr & Fur Gang

and a few other items to move.

With this cold front,

(me and the weather)

I'll do it in a couple of weeks.

The beach place needs a generator.

Among other things.

So. as I drink my meowning coffee

with Maddy Jean by my feet

and Riley napping on his

scratching post

I hope all of you with colds get better fast.

I hope this snow is just on trees

 and not causing trouble on the roads.

Seriously, isn't Spring coming ?

What the ...

This dog looks almost like
what my Bella did this morning.

It's snowing !!!

What the ...

It's February.

Supposed to be getting warm.

Now a nice coat of white is on my lawn.

My dogs too.

They were kind of cute.

Bella was a chocolate lab with white spots.

If only I'd had my camera ready.

It was 5:45 am and all was well .. white.

No school closures listed.

So, the son will have to brave the roads.

Me, I'm going to enjoy this last bit of Winter.

(I hope it's the last cause this is ridiculous)

While I drink my meowning coffee,

I say 'Here's to You and Yours"

Do you see the look on my face ?

I was watching my brother,

Riley,

 stick his face in a bag of lights.

Yes, he actually went in the bag.

I couldn't believe it.

Only HE would do something like that.

I helped Mom take her Holiday Houses out of the attic.

She had them on the landing by the steps.

She took them out and put them all around the house.

She even added snow when she was done.

This week was WILD !!!

We got almost five inches of snow.

We never get snow.

And, I mean EVER !!!

I, of course, walked around in it.

I was the only one.

We even traveled to our

beach place in the snow.

I'll report more later.

Mom has been busy busy busy.

Doing what ?

I don't know what she could

be doing that is more

important than

me doing my

Monday blog.
