Two Years

 

Guess who just turned two ?

Can you believe it.

Time has gone so fast.

My Mother grew up with Rough Collies.

We had several in my childhood.

Jodie is my first adult Collie.

She is an absolute love.

My family was a bit skeptical.

We have had Labs and Golden Retrievers.
Jodie is our first Rough Collie.

They now know why I talk about my childhood dog so much.

Her current nick name is Collie lips.

She loves to talk and I mean to everyone.

Other than that, she is purrfect.

Meredith Ann says meow

and she'll be back soon.

She knows how important it is

to celebrate a birthday.

Come Walk With Me

Last month I had a busy birthday.

Was on the road and walked into my hotel room to this.

A bottle of nice wine, strawberries dipped in chocolate and flowers.

Made a dreary driving day into a very special birthday.

I thought, at first, that I was in the wrong room.

Other than that, my day was just a normal road trip kind of day.

(Took my son back to his University

which is five hours away from home.)

 

This weekend, we celebrate my birthday wish

 and my husband's birthday.

(His is on Saturday.)

Another road trip but this time to the Ocean.

We have a local, three hours away, place we like.

It's not fancy.

Just a condo by the Sea.

Only two or three places to eat in town.

It's a fishing town actually.

People come to go on whale watching tours.

 

Me, I'm going to relax.

To watch those waves roll in.

To walk, my version of it, on the sandy beach.

To remember who I am.

The me I used to be before I got old.

Before those nasty body parts started to fail.

Oh, to be young again.

Which I plan on doing this weekend.

 

The weather will be nice one day.

Not the next.

I've got plans to enjoy both.

 

So, here's to Birthday wishes !!!

Holidays, Birthdays and The Six Year Reminder

The Holidays are over.

Fun was had by all.

Just ask Riley.

Ashton tested out the new puppy bed.

He says it's ok.

Speaking of the puppy.

We get her in three days.

(January 1st)

Someone got some help opening their Birthday presents.

(My youngest turned 19 .. how did that happen !!!)

All in all it was a

WOW MEOW

kind of Holiday

and Birthday celebration !!!

Today marks my sixth year of going into my coma.

I remember it to a point.

Just bits and pieces.

Which is good I would think.

As I've said before, I was not supposed to make it.

Not through the night.

Not through the next day.

I did.

So there ...

Has my life since then been easy.

No, it has not.

Waking up and relearning to walk

was not for the bravest of the brave.

I did it.

Each day is a gift.

Each moment so precious.

I do sometimes wonder though,

on days like today,

why.

So, I'll continue on this journey.

And, hope someone doesn't figure out

that they made a mistake

six years ago.

Til they do,

I'll be enjoying every moment.

I'm An Old Cat Lady

Today is my 55th Birthday.

These are the flowers I got last night.

This morning I had my chocolate eclair.

I get one each year to celebrate.

Of course I shared it with Maddy Jean.

(She gets the bottom part.)

The sun is out.

Cats all sang to me.

Going out to eat tonight.

Fabulous way to celebrate

turning fifty five.

Yikes

I really am an old cat lady now !!!

What do I want for my birthday ?

I don't know .. I don't need anything .. Can't think of a thing

A new camera so that my photos aren't blurry

There .. that's what I want

Do I need it ? No

I want Peace for my Birthday

For the year actually

I want to go on a Wine Tasting mini trip

A long weekend of tasting and driving through the warm part of my state

Maybe staying at the cute hotel .. that I found ... overlooking the river

Even though it's way out there in the middle of no where and not close

to any winery but its own

I'd like to go shopping without buying anything

And, if I do buy, it's something that I don't need

Something cute ...

For breakfast, I would like chocolate eclairs from Safeway.

Without the flowery stuff on top. Or, a cute bakery.

Mr. Boatman is taking me to the Ocean.

On my actually birthday ... that doesn't happen too often.

Rain or Shine ... I'll be there looking at those waves.

Maybe go to a good movie .. the week of.

Oh, and what kind of cake do I want ?

Something Chocolate but just a slice.

Not much else, that I need ...

I'll keep thinking .... I have a few days left
