Mew At You Later

Jodie Belle is enjoying her birthday present.
A squeekie blue green dog.
All four paws make noise.

Even Maddy Jean has been in on the fun.
It's lasted longer than I would ever have thought.

~ ~ ~
Tomorrow I go in for my surgery.
I'm having both kidneys worked on.
This will be my fifth surgery
in less than two years.

I think I'm ready.
I had a list and got it all done.

The lights are up in the yard.
A few at least.
Mr. Boatman wanted me to
have something to look at
while I'm stuck at home.
~ ~ ~
I hope everyone who's not feeling well
is better soon.
I told my gang not to get sick.
They listened, I think.

Til next time,

Paperwork and Long Words

Lilly Ann
My very feral Lynx Point Siamese.
She's been gone for several years now.
I call her my heart cat.
I loved her like no other.
I still miss her.
I still cry when I think of her.
Just saying ...
~ ~ ~
My paperwork arrived last night.
I opened it a bit ago.
I now know what will be done during my upcoming surgery.
I knew sort of but the appointment didn't go my way.
I had expected to hear that everything was fine.
Instead I heard that I was in failure.
Then lots of we need to do this and that.
With me being business like and agreeing.
Those visits are like you are talking about someone else.
You agree how bad it is.
Yes, let's operate.
When you walk out you realize that they were talking about you.

Anyway, like I was saying, now I have the actual words.
I looked them up.
Fancy long medical words.
Basically, I am getting a two for one special.
My right kidney will be worked on.
The two stones are large and in a bad place.
Years ago they just took them out surgically.
Now, they can do a fancy sort of risky surgery.
That's the one they will do.

On the left, they are doing dye/look around tests.
If he finds something that he can do something about, he will.
Thus, the two for one special.
When I wake up, I'll know more.
It's a look and see kind of surgery.

The surgery doesn't really bother me.
It's when I wake up.
The last two times have been wild.
Ten or more people hovering.
My heart goes crazy during surgery.
I went down to 20 degrees last time.
Woke up frantic.
They had heat wraps around me.
It was really bad.

I don't want to wake up like that again.

My kidney Dr. has consulted with my heart Dr.
I wouldn't be doing this if I didn't have to.
Only I do have to.
Cause I like living in my woods.
I like it a lot.

What you have to do to survive.
Well, I'm going to do it.

Just saying ...

Thursday Updates From My Woods

~ ~ ~
It's two weeks today since my surgery.
I'd like to say that I'm fine.
I'm not.
I think each day I am.
Then, something happens.
Too much for this old body to take in.
So, the recovery continues.
Will I get there.
I sure hope so.
Just taking a long time.

Coffee With No Cream

This is the view from the deck at my beach place.
The trees need to be trimmed but you get the idea of the view.
The sunsets can be amazing.
One time there was a thunder storm that went on for hours
before it finally made to my part of the world.
I sat with a glass of wine
taking in the lights that nature set off.
A very peaceful place to relax.

I just got done eating my toast
with coffee and a bit of cream.
Seven am was my do everything timeline.
Now, I am on liquids only.

Tomorrow, I go in very early
for my repair surgery.
So, you won't be hearing from me
for a while.

Hopefully, I will feel well enough
by Monday so Meredith Ann
can let you know how
everything is going.

Til then, enjoy the views
and remember to dance
and pet those purr and fur balls.

And, may I just say,
coffee with no cream,
torture.

Heart

As some of you may know,
 my pretending has ended.
I had such a good time
being free and laughing endlessly.
With the new year,
came the reality that it was over.
I had to be a grown up,
 how awful that can be,
and snap out of it.

Yesterday, I went to my very fancy heart specialist.
It's taken me almost five months to get in to see him.
(Electrophysiology and catheter ablation)

The meeting went fine.
He's nice.
His nurses, yes, there were two, were nice.
Questions that I couldn't answer.
I'm not an expert on my condition.
When done, it was confirmed that I do need heart surgery.
I have two things going on, he thinks.
He'll know more when he gets in there.
(he's words not mine)

I was put on new med.
A stronger one as my current one isn't doing the job.

I was told that I can wait on this surgery
until I'm done with all my possible kidney surgeries.

A note was put in my chart,
for what they should do if
my heart goes crazy again during surgery.

My hope is that this new med
will be tolerated as well as the last one was.
Like I said, the new one is stronger.

I was doing a happy dance when I left his office.
Was the best news I could have gotten.

Now, off to the next grown up appointment.
It's next week with my other fancy Dr.
I'll find out if I need one or two kidney surgeries.

See why I like pretending.
When I come out from my woods or beach,
the mean old world hits me in the face.
Only like usual, I pick myself up
and keep on going.

Mew at you all later,

Prayers and Universal Whatevers Needed

Update ~ Maddy Jean is at the vet.
I'll hear how it went later this afternoon.
Nothing I can do but hope for the best.
~ JC and Jodie Belle ~

Update ~ Maddy Jean is scheduled for surgery tomorrow afternoon.
Talked to the Vet doing it.
Going to be a massive surgery.
May they get it all.
My heart is a bit weary over here.
Paws and fingers crossed.
~ JC ~

This is my Dear Sweet Maddy Jean.
This photo was taken while enjoying a dog park,
in June when the Summer was fun.

Last Friday, I took Maddy in for her check up.
They found six tumors.
We got the call late that day.

Maddy Jean has cancer.

In a bit, I will be calling to schedule
her pre surgical blood work.
Since she is nine now and might have other problems.
If that goes ok, I'll schedule her surgery.

It's a smaller tumor.
Which is good.
She has one that is gigantic.
If it had been that one, well it wouldn't be.

This cancer is nasty.
We were told if it's not stage one,
that she'll need more surgery and chemo.

At that point, we do lots of things to see how far it has spread.
Stage three .. well, not much we can do at that point.

So, if you could all say a little prayer
or just call out to the universe
to be kind to my
 Dear Sweet Maddy Jean.

I could write all day about what a nice dog she is.
She sleeps on my bed every night.
She is with me at all times.

She is my heart and my soul.

It was just one year ago in a few days,
that my Sweet Bella past away.

I simply cannot have two dogs die this close together.

So, like I said, tell everyone you know
to send out a universal
Hell No Maddy Jean won't go.

Please, if you could.

Thank You !!!

Friday Updates

~ ~ ~
Just wanted to give you an update.
I'm home. Doing fine.
On lovely pain meds.
My surgery went fine.
I got option one which is what we all hoped for.
I did have trouble during surgery with my heart.
Woke up to a crazy whirl wind of nurses and Dr's.
Spent the night in the icu heart department.
My heart beats too fast or too slow.
Of course it does ...

I'm home.
With Jasmine and my dogs.
The boys, Riley, Ashton and Al sleep at the end of the bed.
Meredith Ann has been a great visitor to me.
Even though she doesn't sleep with me.
Remember, she has her own special room.

I have my second surgery at the end of the month.
That removes my stint.

All in all, my kidney surgery went as well as I could have hoped.

Now, to mend and figure out what's wrong with my heart.

Enjoy your weekend and pet those purr balls,

XO,
JC
There comes a time in your life when you walk away from all of the drama and the people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for those who don’t. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is part of life, getting back up is living.
