Thoughts On Thursday

I spend my early meowning hours
having freshly brewed coffee while
enjoying the sounds of life.
My new Keurig machine makes
the nicest smelling drinks.
I sit in the den sipping while I check
what the world was up to while I slept.
Always some sort of fighting going on somewhere.
Odd stories about odd things.
Sometimes a story about something grand.
While I'm updating myself, I hear my world.
The sounds of a puppy chewing on a box.
Why she still likes that I don't know
but every morning she finds it.
It's an old file folder.
Purrfect for her to carry around.
She even puts her long nose in it.
This meowning, I also heard
the flock of Canadian Geese
that seem to do fly byes over my woods.
I love their sound.
Brings absolute joy to my heart.
The other sounds are the washer humming in the other room.
That Rough Collie is still learning to wait til I get up.
Oh well, we are almost there.
She's a smart one this pup.
That's what my meownings are like.
I make breakfast for my girls while
they visit the darkness of their yard.
The little one is so excited to eat.
She's brought the youthfulness back to my older one.
Later, after they finish is when she visits with me.
She loves to be near me.
After she's tired of her toys, she asks to be held.
We do the Mom and Jodie love time.
For those few moments, my heart heals and melts.
She has brought me back.
She has healed my soul.
She has brought meaning to this old lady in the woods.
So, Maddy Jean and I will survive.
The cats aren't sure about her.
It will take more time.
Change always does.
And those are my thoughts on this
Thursday in the woods.

We all are ...

I just saw the promo for Pretty Woman. I love that show. Try to watch it anytime it appears on the screen. Vivian was a young naive wounded woman and everyone could relate to her. Anyone of us could end up like her. Not necessarily being a working girl but in a bad job living on nothing. When we find that one person who can lift us out of our outrageous world, it seems like a dream. We have stepped out of our normal days and into this airy daylight. We can pretend if only for a few hours or a couple of days. Before you know what happens, we like what we are doing. The daily routine becomes better than we thought it would. It could be our new norm. Don’t let it overcome you. The new us. That is what it would be or could be like. That is what any new chance is about. Being who you’ve always known you could be. Whether it was to be loved or to love or to just wear a fancy necklace or send a shell flying at someone at a very important dinner. We were all Vivan and we still are. At least I am.

It's quiet here ...

Happy New Year's Eve
I am at our beach house
A car ride with five cats and two dogs
Is always fun
At least it's not dull
It's quiet here
Peaceful
Which is what my soul needs
Plan on going out to dinner
Maybe a movie
Right now I'm having my
MEOWning Coffee
While looking at the drops fall
From the cloudy sky

May 2010 be good to all of you

Peace Love & Joy ...

Garbage & Life

(I got this from a Dear Friend and thought I would share it !!!)

One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport. We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches! The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us. My taxi river just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was really friendly. So I asked, 'Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital! ' This is when my taxi driver taught me and what I now call,

The Law of the Garbage Truck

He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they'll dump it on you. Don 't take it personally. Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. Don 't take their garbage and spread it to other people at home or on the streets. The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take over their day.
Life's too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so...Love the people who treat you right. Ignore the ones who don't.
Life is ten percent what you make it and ninety percent how you take it!
Have a garbage-free day!
There comes a time in your life when you walk away from all of the drama and the people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for those who don’t. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is part of life, getting back up is living.
