Thursday In The Woods

I don't usually do a Thankful Thursday
but today I thought it was appropriate.

The Things I Am Thankful For On This Thursday

~ The cute Snowshoe Siamese who is sitting on the window sill looking at bird tv

~ The Collie who is watching the Siamese while curled up on her blue blanket that is on the chair

~ The Crazy Cat Lady coffee mug that one of my not so crazy cat ladies gave me.

~ The birds singing in the meowning amongst the sounds of traffic.

~ I am so blessed to live in my woods.
The sounds of the real world are near but not right here   at my door. I wish everyone could have my meownings.

~ The quiet that I enjoy each day living here.

~ That today I have nothing I have to do. Meaning, no appointments.

~ For extra time. It means a lot to me lately.

~ That I feel a bit better. My recent heart surgery did me in.

~ Hope. I have it again.

~ Laughter. It gets me through my day.

~ Lists. I make them and cross items off.
   Just something about doing that.

~ A cute Tortie cat sitting on the rug in the hall.
Best thing I ever did was to go in and take her home.

~ That although July was a bit rough for me that I made it through.

~ August is my birthday month. I love it.

~ My hair appointment yesterday went well.
I actually like it. For once, someone did it right.

~ Everything. I am at that point in my life.
I'm very appreciative of what I have.

Hope you have a wow meow kind of day,

Coffee & What I'm Thankful For

What am I doing ?
Just an old cat lady
trying to get a baby and an old lady
used to each other.

Jodie still tries to eat Maddy Jeans tail.
Maddy Jean has had enough of this.
The last two nights, I've had Maddy Jean
come upstairs and sleep with me.

Jodie Belle starts to cry around three am.
We let her.
Then, around seven we are up with her.

She just wants to be with us.
Only Maddy Jean doesn't want to be with her.
Big problem, as I got the puppy for Maddy Jean.

I hope as time goes by,
that they get along.

They do play in the back yard,
In between me telling Jodie not to chew on her sister.

Oh well, I'm sure things will improve.
They always do .. right.

So, I'm thankful that my old dog
hasn't gotten too cranky
at my new one.

I'm thankful that my new one
does sleep a bit.

I'm thankful that I've made it almost two weeks
now with this little one.

I'm thankful that I still had an empty
sprayer bottle under the sink.

I'm thankful that the cats
haven't decided to gang up on the puppy.

So far they've stayed away or
been able to jump over the gates in time.

I'm thankful that there is coffee.
I need it so.

I'm thankful that my desk chair is made of
some sort of chewable hard plastic.

I'm thankful that I got any sleep last night.

I'm thankful that there isn't a hole in
the back fence area cause either
my old dog would run away
or she'd push the puppy through it
and when I'd ask where Jodie was,
Maddy Jean would pretend she didn't know.

I'm thankful that my new puppy
looks cute with a wet nose.

Seriously, what is so fascinating
about a Golden Retriever's tail ?

And, that's about it for this
Thankful Thursday.

More coffee needed !!!

Thoughts On Thursday

What's been going on is the Fall blahs.
The get used to staying inside blues.
I like blue but still I would like to be outside.
Not all the time, but I do enjoy the yellow.
It just makes for a nicer day.

I have my normal routine.
Feed the cats, let Maddy Jean out.
Fix her breakfast.
If I'm lucky, I can start coffee.
Her Golden face will be at the door.

She just loves breakfast.
Since Bella past away, we've been giving
her a bit of canned dog food.
What I call, Stinky Goodness.
I can make a can last four or five days.
She just needs to have a bit
mashed into her food.
All because she was missing her sister
so much that she wouldn't eat.

After that, she goes back outside to sit on her deck.
Me, I get my coffee and sit by the puter.
I check this and that and play or write a bit.

Then, the list is made.
What I want to get done for the day.
Without that list, I sometimes don't
get anything of great importance done.
You know how that goes,
Mr. Boatman gets home
and asks what I did that day.
Nothing ...

So, that is my Fall inside blue blahs ..
What to do with myself.
I know, I'm lucky that I don't work.
To tell the truth I couldn't work if I wanted to.
I have no real skills.
And, that darn brain that was sort of damaged
well it gets in the way sometimes.
Never know when those lovely headaches will arrive.
Makes it hard to make appointments or volunteer.

Anyway, I thought I'd bring this up.
That I've been looking over my life.
Going over what I could do.
What I want to do.
What I need to do.

It's just hard sometimes to decide.
I do appreciate that I have had these
almost six years to do whatever
I was supposed to do.
Only I don't know if I have.
I don't really even know
what I was supposed to do.

And, these are my thoughts on this Thankful
or Thoughtful Thursday.

Thankful Thursday

Sedona
I was thinking early this morning about things.
You know how that happens.
 Early noise wakes you.
Too early to get up but your mind starts to go.
I always say a mini prayer.
 My own version.
That starts the day.
Nothing big just what I'm thinking.
(I grew up going to church six days out of seven.)
I always wish for good health for my family.
I go through the list.
Hoping that Riley eats more.
That Bella keeps going on like she has been.
That Maddy Jean keeps being puppylike
 and never grows old.
I hope for the big four cats to lose a bit of weight.
That Meredith Ann gets brave.
That the three humans in the group stay healthy.
That the stress in their lives eases a bit.
I then think of myself.
Hoping that today is a good day for me.
(That I am not in a lot of pain.
 That I get things done.
That the peace I look for visits.)
I do my mini prayer that I learned as a child.
I'm just saying it to myself
in the hope that it will happen.
The good things for those around me.
A peaceful path.
I wish for that a lot.
Peace.
Since I woke up five years ago from my coma,
I've felt like I was on borrowed time.
Long story short ... I was not supposed to be here.
I have felt great peace the last month or so.
Making big decisions that were hard.
I think they have made me calmer.
Knowing that I did what was right.
Anyway, I thought I'd tell you about this morning.
That for just a bit I was scared.
For what could happen.
My Purr Gang is getting older.
I know that Bella is in a holding pattern
 that will soon end.
Maddy Jean is only two years younger.
I kind of want things to freeze in motion.
I'll take the pain of today and make it be good.
And, that is what I was thinking about today on
Thankful Thursday.
I am so very Thankful for all that I have.
I'm just a bit scared for when it may change.

There comes a time in your life when you walk away from all of the drama and the people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for those who don’t. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is part of life, getting back up is living.
