How Did You Sleep ?

Hanging Out With Jasmine Marie

This is a quiet meowning.
The rain arrived during the night.
Left a moistness that took away
 my lovely sort of warm sun.
(It was warm as long as you stood in it)
It was so nice to have the last few days.
Like Spring really was thinking about
settling in and visiting.
I told the Purr & Fur Gang that
there was hope that Spring
had finally arrived.
Even though it has officially started,
it seems to have been delayed
along its way to my parts of the world.
Not to worry though,
just the idea that it's coming
is enough to bring the spirits around here up.
(Think naps in a sunny spot, birds flying by the windows)

Last night, Mr. Boatman was snoring.
 I gave up and ventured into the closet
where the soft Winter blankets live.
 I settled in with my pillow,
the soft blanket and two of my cats.
 Was thinking, now I can sleep.
Was drifting off when ...

What did I hear from the slight opening in the window ?
Hoo Hoo Hoo Hoo
That happened every other minute.
I listened for a while and
decided I had to get up and close that crack.
Just when I was snug as an old lady 
in a soft kitty cat blanket.

What this tells me is that the owl is still in my woods.
Only how do they survive when they sing all night long ?
Now, to get into that back yard and find it.
Course it won't be today but at least I know
 I have another photo adventure
in the wild back woods
scheduled for this Spring and Summer.

How did you sleep last night ?

( I moved to the beach place and unpacked a lot of my boxes.
Came back to my woods for a couple weeks.
Will be going back and forth depending on what's going on.
The Purr Gang love the beach place.
More room and they can go out on the deck.
They are getting used to car rides.
As used to them as they can.
I guess I'm a bit of a traveler now.
Having two places that I call home.)

Two Tails On A Deck

The rain let up a bit so, on Saturday

 we drove to the beach house

The grass was over two feet tall

Mr. Boatman mowed the front lawn

While my teenage son mowed the back

I enjoyed the nice day

So, did Meredith Ann & Maddy Jean

I don't get them in the same photo often

Of course, it rained the next morning

And, has for several days

Today is nice though

And, I get to mow the lawn at this house

When it dries out

The owls were flying around last night

Really amazing to see

I got a shot of one that was in my yard

Seriously a close up

I was talking to it

Hoos Looking At You

Last night I let the girls out in the back yard

It was just after eight pm

What my Mom used to call Dusk

There on my tree branch were two owls

Frst time I've seen them together

Sitting on a branch that hangs over my back yard area

I of course did not have my camera

Went inside to get it

Got the girls back in the house

Went out on the wet deck in my blue slippers

This was photo at night emergency stuff

And, I don't know how to make my camera

do night stuff so this is what I got

By the way, they saw me and flew one way

And, the other one flew to a tree closer to me

This is the tree that they both were sitting on

After a while this owl flew back into the big woods

This is the owl that flew closer to me

Thanks to Photoshop I've been able to pull

 something out of darkness

This one sat there for a while

making noises to me

and to the other owl a few trees away

Of course, Mr. Boatman came home

Let the dogs out and my owls flew

into the big woods

But, for a while my Friday night

was a Hoot or Two

I told you living in the woods is fun ...

Been raining off and on for two weeks

I thought I'd give you another look at my owl

(Yes, it's mine)

This shot was taken on a tree in the middle of my back yard

Not sure if this is the baby or the Mom

I think it's the baby though

Jasmine is helping me type

She's Siamese and takes it to heart
