John plays but puts her in a daze.
Peter spies things she already knew.
Clark views the entertainment
she's seen many times.
Walter serves the food
while she waits for him to leave.
The view out the window
is what she wants.
The evening will end.
She'll laugh with her friends.
Tell them how she'll never do that again.
Someone waits for her beyond the trees.
Stars and laughter are what she needs.
No more of these blind dates.
She's already found her soul mate.

(I see her on a set up.
Her family wants her to marry one of these men.
She is just waiting. Looking out the window.
Knowing that he is waiting for her just out of town.
They will talk under the stars.
They will be happy.
She's the wealthy one who gets to pick who she marries.
She picks the local farmer who has charm.)

You spotted that she seems not to quite "belong" with the rest of them, and made an interesting situation from that. Nicely done.
It's always boring and forced when you have to sit with a bunch of men who don't interest you. I like your take on this!
I enjoyed your interpretation of the painting :)
Loved your lilacs story too.
My favorite line: "Stars and laughter are what she needs." Such a beautiful turn from such a worldly display as in this picture. Good job!
