Each week we get a photo promt.
I try to write what's in my head.
The first thoughts that gather.
I write them down and go from there.
Only the first thing that came to me was
"Oh No You Don't" or
"You said What"
I tried to write a few lines.
Nothing really came to me.
Thus, I am telling this.
I don't eat chickens.
I stopped long ago.
I'm allergic.
Thus, the wee ones are safe with me.
If only I had a farm for them to run free.
I think most chickens, hens. roosters are very pretty.
The colors speak for themselves.
The eggs aren't bad either.
So, why does everyone eat them.
I don't get it.
Even if I weren't allergic
I still wouldn't kill these
colorful creatures.
Nothing good came from
eating chicken ... at least not to me.

Hmm, we have to admit we like chicken! But hey, we're cats!
Even the mom likes chicken, prefers chicken to turkey actually. It's just the way in which chickens (and other species) are farmed for food that is so deeply disturbing.
I do think they are awfully cute!
Oh dear JC you have hit a nerve with me. I don't eat pork or veal and I am getting close to not eaating cow or chickens.
I recently posted the "wild chickens" that come to my woodlands..ummm...well they are not really chickens but I think Mother Nature knows that I have always had a desire to have my own chicken coop out back.
Kea said it so well about the lack of respect to these birds in how they are raised for human consumption..I buy FREE FROM ..

I'm vegetarian. Don't eat chicken, it's not a vegetable. I had similar thoughts as you, when I saw the prompt for magpie.
I like this much better than the chicken post Willow had! She does look as though she is saying...what?! I am a huge egg fan. I would love to have chickens running amuck on a small no kill farm.
I am sorry but I eat them and I enjoy it. I wish I had the sensibilities to be a vegan. I tried more than once but I just can never stick with it. I find that I miss meat too much. In all honesty I do hate the cruelty factor and wish I could avoid eating anything with a face.

I eat seafood on a regular basis, haven't eaten meat in over 15 years...Happy weekend, JC; I hope you and all your babies are happy and well.
