Princess

Jasmine Marie
~ ~ ~
I don't get many photos of this elusive Snowshoe Siamese.
I think it's the Princess in her.
Every once in a while, I get lucky.
This time I had my camera and wa la.
My beauty for you to see.

And, she loves me.
My world is full of love.

Sassy Princess

I've been busy.
Went to the Ocean last week.
Was warm enough to go for a stroll.
Coffee in hand.
Had a great time.
Like I always do.

Jasmine Marie
She let me actually get a photo of her.
This is my pretty Snowshoe Princess.
I know ..
She is an absolute doll.
A true Siamese.
Sassy.
Sweet.
A true love.

And, that's all I've got for you.
Life.
It is amazing.
Odd.
Weird.
Disturbing.
I'll take it.

Blue Summer Dance

Look at those eyes.
Must have been some Siamese in there somewhere.

~ ~ ~
Was a busy week.
Went here and there.
Had a grand time.
Listened to birds.
Watched rivers turn.
Butterflies were dancing.
Wild flowers smelled when the wind blew.
The sun has been out.
After the clouds blow away.
Everyone is relaxing.
Me included.
I love pretending.
Got to go dance.

Fog, Coffee and Frozen Peas

It's another foggy meowning.
When isn't it around here.
At least this time of year.

Each meowning I feed the crew.
The dogs go out back to explore the new scents of the yard.
The cats all line up out of no where
and share one small can of Fancy Feast.
(It's amazing how they hear me do that
but not when we need to go somewhere)
When the last one is done, usually Jasmine Marie,
the girls come in and get their breakfast.

Me, I go to the den with a cup of coffee
(my reward for being a nice Mom
and my wake up you old lady)
and two bags of frozen peas
(that bad back of mine)
and read about the world.

I go online and see what happened
while I tossed and turned
all night with a grey cat
on me (Ashton doing his toes)
and a Siamese on my pillow.

In between banging at the window
to get the squirrel off the bird feeder.

Today's story was about a lost dog.
(I look and pick a few to actual read)
He was lost and now he's found.
A good story for once.

I get tired of looking at the headlines and everything is yuck.
Bad this, sad that,
who needs to hear about all of that
first thing (ok, mid) morning.
I want a better world.
Don't we all ?

So, if you want to feel good about the world,
take a look at this story.

Something went right for once.

Thursday With Jasmine Marie

Jasmine Marie loves the Holidays.
The tissue paper to be exact.
She is my elusive Snowshoe Siamese.
Not many photos taken of her.
OK, maybe a few of her behind
as she runs away as soon
as the camera comes out.

This time I got a few photos of her.
This one was the best.

And, this is what my Purr Gang did this
Holiday Season.

Always the helping type.

~ ~ ~
I was wondering why the Holiday Season
went so fast this year.
Or at least it seemed like it.

I needed a quiet time.
I sort of got it.

Hope you all have a
peaceful week.

Purr and Fur Gang

My life is just dam complicated so
I'm not even going to talk about it.
Instead, I'll step over it and on to other things.

The Purr and Fur Gang are all well.
Which is sort of amazing considering their ages.
(checking to see if they are listening)
Cause I'm going to talk about them.

Big Al is fourteen and doing great.
He naps a lot but so do I.

Ashton Rosevelt naps a lot too but he's still talking away.
He's the one I watch close.
I'm always wondering where he went.
He has gotten locked in a lot of closets in his life.
I never leave without knowing where he is.
He's eleven  now.

Jasmine Marie is still a crabby old Siamese.
Sweet though when she wants to be
but basically any growl you hear is from her.
She's nine or ten.

Riley Andrew is still getting in trouble.
Every chance he can actually.
I think he's around eight or nine now.
He hasn't really slowed down much.
He still owns the perch by the window
and watches bird tv with me.
Yes, I watch it every morning.

Meredith Ann has been with me for three years.
(this coming November)
I can't even remember life without her.
She has changed my days so much.
I think she's about five or six.
She is an absolute doll.
Except for her silky furs that get nasty clumps.
That she and I could do without.

Maddy Jean is ten and still going.
Her tumors are unfortunately growing with her.
She's been with me one more year.
That nasty cancer surgery is a memory now.
No more of those for her ever.
She naps a lot.
I'm fine with that.
She doesn't seem to be in pain so more time is what I get.
She watches Jodie play.
So do I.

She's quite entertaining actually.
Everyone should get a Collie.
At least we think so.
Jodie Belle is the cutest Rough Collie ever.
No, really I mean it.
Barks too much but so do I.
Let's face it, who doesn't bark too much.
Just love her so much.
She has made Maddy Jean happy.
All the cats like her too.
Ok, not the Siamese but Jazz doesn't like anyone but me.

See, that was more fun than telling you about my life.
Hope you all have a nice day.
I'm off to dance a bit.
It seems to make me forget and I like that.

Eeyore and Purrs

Jodie Belle as a puppy
~ ~ ~
I'm having coffee in my Eeyore cup.
He and I were meant for each other.
Only I'm a bit cheerier than he.
I just love him.
Always have.

Maddy Jean and Jodie Belle have been in and out a lot.
Their normal routine in the mornings.

Riley is of course on his scratching post watching.
Meredith Ann is on her heater vent.

Al is sleeping on his bed.
Jasmine Marie is on her blanket in the closet.
Ashton is napping on my bed.

All is purrfect this morning.

~ ~ ~
An update on my Doctor visit yesterday.
They think that I've past my kidney stone.
They think that the infection caused by it is gone.
The ct shows that my left kidney is worse than was thought.
I need to have a test done to see the percentage of it's function.
There was talk of taking it out.
I was told I could go into renal failure at anytime.
My right kidney needs to be repaired soon.
(I have stones in that one too)
It was a fun talk.
She told me I took it well.
I walked away with all my paperwork.
I think I'm in shock.
Of course, I might go into renal failure.
Isn't that what everyone does for the Holidays.
And, who needs that left kidney.
Just gives you stones and infections.
Out with the old I say.
The test will give me the news I need.
I think I might put that test off for a while.
I like the unknown.
At least for today.

See why I hide in my woods.
When I come out, things come after me.

I'm going to stay home today.
With my Purr and Fur Gang.
And, my Eeyore cup too.

Hope your Gang is napping and cute like mine.
They get me through these times.
These tests that life throws at me.
I'm a fighter though.
I plan on winning.

Silly Snowshoe Siamese Friday

A rare photo of my Sassy Snowshoe Siamese,
Jasmine Marie.
She normally lives upstairs in her closet.
Yes, she owns it but allows the rest
of us to venture in for visits.
In the afternoons, after her naps,
she will come downstairs for pets.
Only because we've made too much noise
or not been upstairs at the right time to pet her.
She is a funny girl.
Too many pets and she'll hit you.
It's those white paws that get her in trouble.
We think she was very abused before she was rescued.
She's come a long way since I picked her up at PetSmart.
I told her she was safe now.
Well, as safe as I could make her.
She enjoys her life ruling her brothers.
She yells at them if their shadows come close.
Hissing is her middle name.
She is Siamese after all.
In the afternoons and evenings,
I will go upstairs and call her name.
She comes and sits with me.
Thus, I spend lots of time with her.
Some days she doesn't come to visit.
She naps on her blanket in the closet.
I love this girl more than I can say.
She saved me when I was so sick
after my coma, six years ago.
I woke up and asked about her.
Everyone wanted to know who she was.
She was one thing I did remember.
Silly how that is.
The things that you remember
when you can't even remember
how to walk.
It's that Silly Snowshoe Siamese
and me .. always will be.

Right now, she's napping.
Too early for her to get up.
If you need her,
she'll be taking pets
upstairs on her blanket.

The den is a bit busy this meowning.

Mondays With Meredith Ann

I sit on the bench.
I close my eyes.
I hear the sounds.
Birds fly in my woods.
The Mom checks on me.
Do I want to come in ?
Seriously, do I look like it !!!
My sister, Jasmine, does not get to go out.
She'd love to trade places with me.
She'll have to listen through the screen.

Life's good over here.

~Meredith Ann ~

Note from Mom ~ Meredith Ann is the only purr ball of mine
that will walk around on her leash and act like it is fine.
Everyone else, Jasmine included, goes crazy and thus,
they can't go outside on a leash.
I might try again with her though cause well,
she's a sassy Siamese and she's cute as all get out.
And, where does that phrase come from .. all get out ?

Sunflowers and Cats

Jasmine Marie, Meredith Ann and Riley Andrew
enjoying my sunflowers.

~ ~ ~
This week the cats were entertained with a Sunflower
arrangement that arrived at our doorstep.
Gorgeous is not a good enough word
to describe how they are.
The cats, one by one, did the sniff test.
I tried to get a good shot of them doing this.
Jasmine wouldn't allow a close up.
Being the Silly Snowshoe Siamese that she is.
Meredith of course did an up close and personal inspection.
Riley did a walk by and later a chew.
That's his specialty.

~ ~ ~
I've been busy going to new Dr's this week.
Getting x rays and mri's
on my old cat lady body.
Next week, I go back to see what they say.
The hope is that I can get a couple of things done
that will improve my current nerve pain.
I'm going to a spine specialist who mentioned a few ideas.
So, until I know more, I'll be using my cane
and ice packs and hoping for improvement.

~ ~ ~
This weekend, we are still working on this old house.
Painting one more room.
Doing a few things in the yard.
Last minute clean up
before my two kids come home
from their Universities next week.

All Over

Dragonflies
I see them all over my yard.
In the front
In the back
Small ones
Big blue ones
I was in the back yard
wondering where they go when it gets cold
which it seems to be doing
weather wise that is
Not tonight though
seventy three in the hallways
with most windows open
Still there is the coolness
Calling to us
The woods that surround my yard
seem to be getting ready
For the change that is coming
Do the dragonflies fly away ?
Must look this one up.

Just my thoughts while I sit with my
silly snowshoe Siamese, Jasmine Marie.

Mondays With Meredith Ann

This week I helped Mom unpack.
Like a proud snoopervisor,
I posed by my newly scratched box.
Mom was lucky enough to get this photo
of me doing the kitty cat
stretch and scratch.
Jasmine Marie had to stop and stare.
She couldn't believe my talents.
What does she know ..
 she's a silly Snowshoe Siamese.
While Mom & I were busy,
Bella was snoozing with her toys.
Mom says she's dreaming
of when she was a puppy.

As you can see,
 my work is never done.
I think I might have to join Bella.

Til next week,
This is

Red Eye Special

Jasmine Marie
 is practicing her
 Halloween spooky eyes look.
I think she almost has it down.
Now, for a cute costume.
Nah, she's already got that.
A Silly Snowshoe Siamese.

Me and my Girls

I went to the beach place last weekend.
The girls and I had some relaxing times.
I spent some warm moments with them.
Meredith Ann and I hugged for quite a while.
As you can see, her furs are still growing in.
What a lovely lady she is.
Bella loves to sit in her chair in the sun.
Meredith and I were sitting next to her.
Who wouldn't want to ...
Jasmine Marie was doing her cute curl pose
 while taking a sun nap.
This girl still amazes me.
I'm so glad I brought her with us.
She doesn't enjoy the long car ride but
the being outside is what it's all about.

Sunshine in the Woods

Jasmine Marie helping me in the meowning

It's Thursday already.
How did that happen?
The days are cooler.
More enjoyable.
Been able to work a bit in the yard ... jungle .. during the day.
Been putting the bird feeders up before coffee.
Taking them down before sunset.
Seems to be making cats and humans happy.
No new bear sightings or noises.
I thought my owls had flown the woods.
Heard an evening Hoo Hoo.
Seems that they are still here.
Just not showing themselves to me like they were.

There are little things going on at my place in the woods.
Nothing too big.
Just enough to make an old lady worry a bit.
While I was watering the front yard yesterday,
I thought about how I can't really do anything about them.
I decided not to worry.
Not easy to do but I will try.

Thought of what I need to do for me in this life.
I've had so many years of taking care of my kids.
Mr. Boatman has always been busy with work or his things.
I need to think of what to do with my time.
The yard needs lots of work.
Been trying to do that.
Don't really have the money to pay someone else to do it.

My fingers and feet were giving me trouble.
Scared me just a bit.
Reminded me of a few years ago.
Today they are better.
I'm just going to take things easy.
Even if I don't get lots done.
It's better than not getting anything done ... right.

Cats & Dogs are doing ok.
The heat got to them but they napped through it.
Maddy Jean is limping and I don't know why.
Bella is having trouble hearing but her ears are clean.
Just getting old like me I guess.
And, that is the latest from this old cat lady who lives in the woods.

I'm starting Over

Today I am starting over.
I am evaluating my life path.
Not that I'm not happy. I am.
Things are out of control.
My old body doesn't like me.
I went on the scale yesterday
and I'm sure most of you heard the
 SCREAMS.

How did this happen .. again ?

I was underweight as a child.
Thin ... wind would blow me away.

Started to gain the lovely pounds
when I was in High School.
Fought the extras and finally lost
 most of them during college.
I did have a year there where I gained a lot.
 Boyfriend problems.
What am I going to do after college problems.
No money problems.

I lost that weight. Gained it back.
Lost that weight. Gained more.
Lost that weight and some.
Kept it off for a week or two.
Gained it all back and then some.

And, this has happened to me  to the point where now
I'm very very very very over weight.

Just a year ago, I'd lost thirty of those nasty chubs.
 I felt better about myself.
Now, very slowly they have crept back.
Leading up to yesterday and my SCREAMS.

I got my hair cut at a new local yesterday and two doors down was a closed ... yes, I checked ... Weight Watchers den. I've been there before.
The cattle drive for weigh in is enough
to drive a grown old lady to drink
... an extra loaded with calories ...
mocha with whip cream.

So, I did the on line WW ... see I know the lingo.
Did that for years. Even formed a Cat Lover's group.
Decided not to pay each month just to talk with friends. Besides, they don't monitor the groups
so any mean spirited ...
and who isn't when they're not eating ...
person can comment.
And, we all know how mean spirited comments can ruin
any one's day.
 So, I stopped visiting WW.

Only now ... here I am ... all "fill in the blank" pounds of me.
Mad, sad, upset to say the least, frustrated, how the hell did this happen to me again, what the heck, how's a gal who can't walk too well supposed to walk it off,
 and you get the idea.

Back to counting calories, journaling, not eating ...
and hoping once again ...
to weigh what it says on my driver's license.

I just found a new blog ... may it be of help to me ...

I'll keep you posted and let you know how it's going.
It's my blog. I get to do that.

Now, off to get my blue notebook
and journal what I had for breakfast.

Does anyone know how many calories for cat fur in your coffee ?

Coffee At My Place

I have my coffee each morning in the den
They have their mornings in my front yard
She walks around the lawn
They sit in the driveway
She ate a bit of bird food
Stayed for over an hour
When my son opens the door
They fly away
I looked around yesterday
Checking for a nest
Nothing yet
Like I said before, I don't have water
So this is a puzzle
Makes for great Bird TV though
Jasmine watching Bird TV

I'm just her Mom

Jasmine Marie

This is my Siamese Princess
She usually spends her days
upstairs in an old sock box
(I used to wear socks and now I keep them up on a shelf)
Each meowning she watches bird tv
Sits on or near me
Gets pets
We talk
The usual Princess & Mom routine
After she eats
And watches more tv
She jumps up on the chair
To the shelf
To the next shelf
And lands oh so dainty like
on the highest shelf in the closet
From her box she looks down on her
kingdom which consists
of a walk in closet
Mostly she can see if any of her
brothers come in to eat
She knows all
And, when she wants
she comes down from her throne
Yesterday, she came downstairs
and I got a photo of her
Since she doesn't get a lot of
blogtime
(don't tell her how much I put her brothers on)
So, enjoy
and be awed by her
beauty

She is a Snowshoe Siamese Princess
and I'm just her Mom

(hope you are all having a fabulous Tuesday)
There comes a time in your life when you walk away from all of the drama and the people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for those who don’t. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is part of life, getting back up is living.
