Thursday In The Woods

I'm having coffee in my Eeyore cup.
Watching a small woodpecker eat from the suet.
A cute brown bird is watching.
Wish I knew what kind it was.
The bird, I know the suet.
Berry or peanut.

Meredith Ann is taking a bubble
next to the heater vent.

Jodie Belle is in the chair
on the soft blanket
looking at the woodpecker.

Maddy Jean is blocking the front door.
She naps a lot but who cares.
She's with us.
Enough said.

The rest of the purr gang
are around here somewhere.
Riley was just in the living room
looking at the birds out front.
I have a big area with four suet's
going for his entertainment.

Jasmine was upstairs.
She came out and sang to me.
She's a sweet Siamese sometimes.
And, remember the sometimes.

Me, I'm staying home today.
Making a list.
Checking it twice.
Have things to do.

Been way too busy with my health issues.
Now, to enjoy just regular life.
Like people do.
Oh, that might be fun.

The Holidays are coming.
Several boxes have shown up.

I went to the post office yesterday.
First time that I'd driven in weeks.
The health thing.

Was sort of fun.
Went well.
No problems.

Have I done any shopping.
No.
Am I worried about it.
Not really.

This year I'm just going to enjoy
the music and the shows
and the fun of it.

I might get my family a thing or two
but nothing big like I've done before.
Stocking stuffers perhaps.

And, that is the latest
in my very frozen woods.

Thursday In The Woods

This is a view of my side back yard.
It's a bit wild and borders the woods that line my yard.
Doesn't show you the real snow ville
but it does show some of the fallen trees.
There's a big one towards the right corner.
A fir tree that almost hit the fence.

I'm almost melted.
Went in the back yard with the dogs
and there are still piles of it.
I'm sure it will go away soon.

It was a wild week.

My older dog is relieved to have her normal yard back.
My little dog doesn't like the sounds of saws
that have become the new ringing from
almost every yard near us.

Me, I'm ok with being inside for now.
Had a bit of a setback health wise
but am on the mend.

I feel so much better than I did
so, I'm sure I'll be fine.

Does remind me though
that I have tested fate
one more time.

And again, I laugh at it.
Not this time.
Too much to do.

And, with that in mind,
I have made a list of things I need to do.
I'm not quite up to doing them yet
but I will get them done.

For today though,
I will drink my tea
and enjoy my napping puppy.

The cats are all upstairs.
The constant saw noise has them
all on a soft blanket or
napping on the towels in the closet.

Oh, and I got the photos to download
so next Monday I will have those
ever so cute photos of
Miss Meredith Ann.

She is just the cutest big fluff ever.
And, add in that personality of hers.
I was just too lucky that day
that I looked at her window.

She looked back at me and yelled.
Couldn't stop thinking about her.
Went back three times and
on that third time I told myself
that if she was still there
I would take her home.

That was over two years ago.
She's just spoiled like every cat should be.
Fat .. cozy and happy.

So, I hope you aren't snowed in
or watered in as some have become.
May this Winter get just a bit warmer.
I'm so ready for Spring.

Here's to your list
may you get it done.

Sunshine in the Woods

Jasmine Marie helping me in the meowning

It's Thursday already.
How did that happen?
The days are cooler.
More enjoyable.
Been able to work a bit in the yard ... jungle .. during the day.
Been putting the bird feeders up before coffee.
Taking them down before sunset.
Seems to be making cats and humans happy.
No new bear sightings or noises.
I thought my owls had flown the woods.
Heard an evening Hoo Hoo.
Seems that they are still here.
Just not showing themselves to me like they were.

There are little things going on at my place in the woods.
Nothing too big.
Just enough to make an old lady worry a bit.
While I was watering the front yard yesterday,
I thought about how I can't really do anything about them.
I decided not to worry.
Not easy to do but I will try.

Thought of what I need to do for me in this life.
I've had so many years of taking care of my kids.
Mr. Boatman has always been busy with work or his things.
I need to think of what to do with my time.
The yard needs lots of work.
Been trying to do that.
Don't really have the money to pay someone else to do it.

My fingers and feet were giving me trouble.
Scared me just a bit.
Reminded me of a few years ago.
Today they are better.
I'm just going to take things easy.
Even if I don't get lots done.
It's better than not getting anything done ... right.

Cats & Dogs are doing ok.
The heat got to them but they napped through it.
Maddy Jean is limping and I don't know why.
Bella is having trouble hearing but her ears are clean.
Just getting old like me I guess.
And, that is the latest from this old cat lady who lives in the woods.
~ JC ~
There comes a time in your life when you walk away from all of the drama and the people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for those who don’t. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is part of life, getting back up is living.
