Fog, Coffee and Frozen Peas

It's another foggy meowning.
When isn't it around here.
At least this time of year.

Each meowning I feed the crew.
The dogs go out back to explore the new scents of the yard.
The cats all line up out of no where
and share one small can of Fancy Feast.
(It's amazing how they hear me do that
but not when we need to go somewhere)
When the last one is done, usually Jasmine Marie,
the girls come in and get their breakfast.

Me, I go to the den with a cup of coffee
(my reward for being a nice Mom
and my wake up you old lady)
and two bags of frozen peas
(that bad back of mine)
and read about the world.

I go online and see what happened
while I tossed and turned
all night with a grey cat
on me (Ashton doing his toes)
and a Siamese on my pillow.

In between banging at the window
to get the squirrel off the bird feeder.

Today's story was about a lost dog.
(I look and pick a few to actual read)
He was lost and now he's found.
A good story for once.

I get tired of looking at the headlines and everything is yuck.
Bad this, sad that,
who needs to hear about all of that
first thing (ok, mid) morning.
I want a better world.
Don't we all ?

So, if you want to feel good about the world,
take a look at this story.

Something went right for once.

I go in cycles where I'll read and watch news coverage quite extensively, then not want to see any news for a while. Though I find that the older I get, the less and less I want to tune in to the latest disaster, real or media-made.

Actually, it's when I'm tired, stressed and struggling that I find I can't deal with all the external negative energy bombarding me, and since I seem to be always tired, stressed and struggling these past years...Well, that says it all. Very little news for me!

So a feel-good story is a gem, and I wish the various media would balance out their terror/horror/misery with better, happier items.

I am so glad that Tigger was found. I just read my local paper. I live in a small town, so there is lots less of the bad and sad. I do sort of keep up on national news, but not too much of it.

Only want to read the good stuff now. Seen enough of the bad.
Glad that Tigger's story had a happy ending.

Thank you for that good story. I'm like the rest of us; too much bad news filling up the 24/7 news reports. After so many years of reading and listening and realizing there is little I can do in many cases (the Middle East, for example) I am ready for good news.

By the way, at our house we just discovered homemade gel packs to freeze and reuse: 1 cup of alcohol to 2 cups of water, place in a zip lock bag, get out as much air as you can, seal and freeze. Put the first bag into a second one, sealing well to prevent leaks. They work really well.

I prefer those too, my friend. Katie Isabella says when I sit or pay to read, she will be there too and she won't permit reading. :-( I must attend to her.

There comes a time in your life when you walk away from all of the drama and the people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for those who don’t. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is part of life, getting back up is living.
