Thinking In The Woods

~ ~ ~
I'm just over here in the woods dancing.
Enjoying the meowning.
Most of the cats are with me.
Jasmine, being in the hallway.
Always ready to run away.

Jodie Belle napping on the rug.
Riley Andrew got the chair this time.
It has a very soft blanket on it.
Jodie grew up on that chair
and thinks it belongs to her.

Big Al napping near by.
Meredith Ann curled up by the window.
Maddy Jean is napping on the cool tiles in the hall.
Ashton Rosevelt is the only one missing.
Probably dreaming of toys while napping on the couch.
He seems to love it lately. The couch and toys.

Music is healing my soul.
It was injured.
People get to me.
I've thought a lot about it lately.
I'm a gentle soul.
Always looking for the good.
When nasty stuff happens,
I am in shock ... really.
It takes a while for me to recover.
Thinking out the why and if.

With time, I become me again.
It's the few days in between
where my thinking goes on.
Wondering why life is the way it is.
Why some people are the way they are.

So, today I listen and dance.
Knowing that I will continue on.
My soul is a calmer wiser one.
Not that I am purrfect.
Oh no, I am not.
It's just that I try a bit harder
to be kinder and listen.

To the cry of nature.
The wisdom of my woods.

I like it oh so much more
that the harsh words
of people.

Just saying ...

I don't think the nasty stuff surprises me, unless it's truly evil and depraved. But general human behaviour? I'm pretty cynical about that. And I can't claim to be perfect either, I have had plenty of nasty moments in my life, particularly in regard to my current neighbours.

I'm with you on the wisdom of your woods. Spending time in Nature is far more soothing than spending time with any human, IMO.

It is a harsh world, and nature can be as well. Just watching Nature on PBS last night and I had to avert my eyes to the true harshness of life. But people can be ruthless and heartless, so we hear what you are saying, and sometimes it just takes time with peace to soothe the soul.

Nature and critters are always good for the soul and for healing. Hugs from all of us.

I am often of a mind with Fuzzy Tales. I'm pretty cynical, especially about life now as opposed to life as it used to be. But I would love to live in a gentle world where I would be surprised by bad behaviour.

The power of the purr is magical and healing.

I know what you are talking about!! There are some days I just want to stay home with my furbabies, and let the world spin without me...
Hang in there!!!

There comes a time in your life when you walk away from all of the drama and the people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for those who don’t. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is part of life, getting back up is living.
