Heart Burn

It's a noisy Tuesday meowning.
The garbage and recycling trucks wake those who aren't up yet.
And, who would that be .. my kids.
I hear movement.

It's been one week since my heart surgery.
One week of very odd.
My 'simple procedure' did not work.
At least, everyone involved thinks.

After fours hours of being slightly sedated,
which means I felt everything,
I was taken back to my room.

Yes, I felt all the things they did to me.
Even the burning of my heart.
That's a good one.
Check that off of my 'to do' list.

The results were that they only found one spot.
My heart rate still hits 194 and bounces all around.
Not a success.
The Dr. says he wants to do it again.
Only this time with no medication.
Are you serious.
No way.

This week, I've been napping.
It's the cat in me.
Sitting in chairs and passing out.
Seeing white spots .. literally.

Yesterday, I sat in the back yard.
My son set up my chair and book.
All I did was walk to it.
And, I did do that without having to hold on to anything.
No sitting on the floor, deck or lawn, on the way.

I am improving.

Talked to the nurse yesterday.
She said it can take a month to be better.
And, as she said,
I did have my heart burned.

Due to all of this,
I had to move back to my house in the woods.
(I had been told this was a simple procedure
and that I'd be good to go in a day or two.)
Cats aren't too happy with me.
They get to go out on the deck at the beach place.

Oh well, maybe next Summer.

Thinking of you. I can't believe they asked you do do the procedure again without sedation. Sending lots of healing vibes that you improve day by day.

I am so sorry that the surgery wasn't successful. I'm starting to think that doctors just make their "best guess" and hope that things work out. I hope you will be feeling better soon. Sending love and hugs from all.

That really sounds awful and I can't believe, like Cheri, that they want to do it again without sedation=there has to be another way!...Praying for you to feel better asap...Wishing you the very best...Hugs.

I hope you don't have to go through that again..Sounds like it's a strong possibility..The Purrs will just have to understand..Happy thoughts..

I am so glad that you are doing well!!! I was so wrapped up with my Mom that I forgot you were up for surgery!! And if he wants to do it with no medication, I think he should try having that done to him, first.

There comes a time in your life when you walk away from all of the drama and the people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for those who don’t. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is part of life, getting back up is living.
