Today Was The Day

~ ~ ~
I'm home.
Having coffee while petting Meredith Ann.
Riley is napping on his scratching post perch.
Better known as the best seat for bird tv.
Not much of that today.
Wet out.
Not raining now though.
Riley and I talked for a while
about where the birds go
when it rains.
Into the trees, we figured.

Today, I went to my favorite hospital.
Been there so much,
that I know just about every floor.
Things went well.
I no longer have attachments.
My fancy surgery and six weeks
of recovery are over.

I'm now waiting.
I will know this weekend
if all of this worked.
My Dr., the fancy surgeon,
told me that everything will
 be fine or not.
That I'll know if things go wrong.

I am walking without pain.
First time in six weeks.

I have a list a mile long
of what I want and need
to get done.

This being sick
is really not for me.
I want to do so many things.
Having kidney failure
is just so yesterday. lol

I am hopeful.
I always seem to be.

My next big test is in June.
I've done one of these before.
It's a fancy test to see
how your kidney functions.
Each time I sign up for one,
they ask if I've had a kidney transplant.
It's a test to see if your kidney
is failing and I have to explain
my story.

Yes, I know how to have fun
at the imaging area.

So, for this weekend,
I plan on pretending
that everything is grand.

My six weeks has earned
me the honorary degree
of old cat lady
who sits in the woods
and can walk without pain.

I know how to celebrate
this thing called life.

Oh, and I plan on dancing.

Yes, I do.

How wonderful to be pain free :o)
Sincerely hoping that things will continue the same way for you :o)
(Don't do too much though - ease yourself into things please.)
Sending my very best wishes.

Oh, such a hopeful post, fingers and paws crossed this did work.

We think dancing would be great...but maybe make it a slow waltz, okay? Please try not to overdo things!

Glad you are home and planning to dance. Hugs and prayers.

There comes a time in your life when you walk away from all of the drama and the people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for those who don’t. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is part of life, getting back up is living.
