On Friday She Writes

~ ~ ~
I found you the other day.
Was walking by and there you were.
I picked you up.
Where did the time go ?
We both look so young.
 I remember that day.
We were sitting under the tree.
It was sunny and we were resting in the shade.
Mom came out and took our photo.
I had my hand over your shoulder.
I can still remember you.
 It's been a while.
My memories are fading.
I don't think about you like I did.
I forget sometimes.
Lately, you have been on my mind.
Maybe that's why I found you again.
 If only in that photo.

In memory of my dog, Chrissy.
He was my childhood friend.
A mix of a Collie and Shepherd.

Lovely. :-)

I don't often think of my childhood companions now (dog, horse), but when I do, the memories are warm and gentle.

Beth here -- oh my, tears are falling as I write this....how touching....I love the way you write, my friend.... Have you ever thought of putting pictures with these and making a book -- it would be a best seller! Thank you for sharing this with us.

Fuzzy Tales ~ He was the best dog ever. I've been thinking about him a lot lately.

A very sweet memorial to a family member and friend, your pet. Fortunately I took many photographs while I was in art school of our family dog, a german shepherd and Alaskan Huskie mix, Brandy, and our black & white foundling cat Sergeant Tibbs. My younger brother is in most of the pctures and they are so precious to us all, now that we are older.

What a nice memory! Purrs to you as you remember Chrissy.

There comes a time in your life when you walk away from all of the drama and the people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for those who don’t. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is part of life, getting back up is living.
