Birds are talking

There are times in life where one wishes there was a stop watch. When the world around you is just too much and a button is needed to halt everything just for a moment. Or maybe two. I don't mean the whole world. Just mine.

Spring is everywhere lately. Even though it's not really here yet. Outside my window is a tree full of tiny pink petals. Birds are talking about it. Telling me and anyone who will listen, "Spring is here". My cat loves to sit in the window and look at them lovingly. The birds not the petals. She sits and tells me about it. "Mom, look at those birds. They have feathers. They move. Oh Mom LOOK" She's a real talker.

As she sits at the end of my bed, having moved from her window, she is enjoying a well deserved nap. In this room is my loves. The dogs are snoring. My older cat, who is at the other end of the bed, is breathing in and out. Always good to hear in an aging feline. The sounds and sights that a Mom needs to have. A time where I can take in what is precious in my life.

If only I could put a hand out around my world. To keep it safe. To keep it mine. To hold in this moment forever.

I feel the same way; I am so grateful to have my babies, my parents and sometimes, I wish I could just stop time and keep us all together in the moment.

Hi JC, afraid I don't share your love of cats but I do like the garden birds and yes, there are times you'd love to freeze-frame the moment.

Oh, yes, to stop the world and hold on to the moment is a great wish. I feel ya.

I love that post...now where do I find a stop watch?

There comes a time in your life when you walk away from all of the drama and the people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for those who don’t. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is part of life, getting back up is living.
