I kicked it ...

On the ever popular list for yesterday
was get the holiday lights
 out of the upstairs attic.
As the day went on,
I got most things done but there it was
at the bottom of the list.
So, around six in the evening I forged a path to the door.
The bonus room as it's called is really a
puter nerd/teenage son's storage area.
Add in a few book cases, several very old chairs
and an even older tv cabinet and you have it.
Now that you have that image in your brain,
imagine me moving this and that to the side.
I open the door and with shock ...
and I was really ... there the box was.
Last thing in the attic .. first thing out.
That was way too easy.
Course the box was piled with tangled lights.
Too heavy to pick up, I kicked it ... slowly ...
across the path I'd made.
Into the hallway ...
that also has a few items from the bonus room
that tried to make an escape.
There the box sits.
 Top of the stairs.
Enough room for a cat to sit by it.
Wouldn't want to ruin Riley's ..
peer down at the other cats on the stairs ... routine.
I was so proud of myself.
When Mr. Boatman got home, I announced my accomplishment.
No real praise was given.
Did he not realize what I'd just done ?
So, on today's List is detangle holiday lights.
Maybe just maybe
I'll actually get some put out in the front yard.
Wouldn't that be nice ...

So what's lighting up your world ?

I'm glad your story has a happy end! I was afraid that you broke something on your way. Since it's not raining, I get my holiday decorations out too.
Thank you JC for your comments on my blog! As for your question - where did the Garden Witch have that lunch with a huckleberry dessert - it was at Antony's in Bremerton. Have you been there?

Maybe, just maybe, they won't be as tangled as you think!

Hi, JC! Glad you are getting stuff crossed off your to-do list!! What is shining in my yard today? Well, the sun, for one thing! Yay, sun!!! It has been a bit too long!
Plus, one of the advantages of doing casual work is being sent home in the middle of the day if they run out of work. Meant that I could take the floral bits outside and take their photo, rather than leaving them another week.

Hopefully those lights won't be tooooooo tangled. That is the worst part about Christmas lights...♥

You have to take your accomplishments where you can - well done! :D

What is shining here, alittle bit of sun. Haven't gotten up in the attic to bring down all the xmas stuff, will try and get hub to help, since all the weather here will be doing is rain/sleet/snow and more rain for the next week. Winter is here. Smile

My daughter and I trimmed the tree over the weekend. I got a little rough with the lights (I REALLY get ticked off when they don't cooperate!) I think I should invest in a pre-lit tree ;) Good luck with your tangled collection!

Wow, so many, so ambitious. I prefer to wait until it's good and cold, rainy and my ladder sinks in the yard to dig out and untangle lights then go out and hang them.

Now, who's the smart ones? LOL

It is so nice when jobs can be done without additional difficulty:)

The thought of making Christmas cookies tomorrow and finally getting our old piano out of the living room is lighting me up! Once that piano is gone, we can rearrange the furniture and put the tree up, right in the window as I've never been able to do before. So, so looking forward to this. And congrats on getting the box found and moved. Does nobody appreciate our hunt and find capabilities anymore?

There comes a time in your life when you walk away from all of the drama and the people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for those who don’t. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is part of life, getting back up is living.
