Just a name ...

The email said, he had died.
I thought about him.
I think I've talked to him while in my yard.
He would walk his dog.
He lived down the the big hill.
The house with the cute dog.
My dog had dug out and they called us.
His wife seemed so kind.
To have taken my dog in and called us.

It made me sad.
It made me think.

He had come home to die.

I cried ...
For the loss,
for her,
for the family
For his dog ...

I don't even know them
Just a name
But I knew that name

As I slept someone's spirit went away

Wow JC your story hit home with me. I saw a childhood friend's obit last night online. He was only 47 and passed away suddenly. I had trouble sleeping last night. Kept waking up with him, and his family on my mind!

I know ... I'm sure I'd said hello to him. I think I remember doing that and knowing who he was. I'm sure he remembered my dog, Bella.

It's just .. sad. And, scary too.

I wish everyday for peace and hope and wellness for those I know.

To hear this, well ... it so made me sad .. to my soul.

Beautiful. It reminds me that, sometimes, just a simple "hello," a small, thoughtful gesture or a smile is enough to make someone's day.

My neighbor across the street died this summer. He was my age. Known him for 20 years or more, but really didn't know anything about who he really was.

That is sad. We know how hard it is to lose someone.

That is a pretty picture.

It is so depressing how people can be here today and gone tomorrow.

That is sad. I'm sure whereever he is now, he knows you are thinking of him.

Sad, thoughtful. Blessings to him and his family.

There comes a time in your life when you walk away from all of the drama and the people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for those who don’t. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is part of life, getting back up is living.
