~ ~ ~
I just got done sitting on the deck
in my back yard
watching my two dogs play.
My woods are a wonder.
How I found this place
and that I am still here.
(it took me two years of looking)
Meredith Ann was at the door in a minute.
As if she could smell the fresh air.
So, it was the four of us.
Me, with my glass of wine in hand.
Mere, chewing green grass.
The girls, playing tug of war with an old hedge hog.
(toy not the real kind)
The weather has been so nice.
Warm in fact.
I sat out and looked at the birds
and clouds fly by.
Enjoyed the Spring that has arrived.
My life is a puzzle.
I sometimes don't even know how
to put the pieces together.
This afternoon and evening
were what I live for.
Just taking it all in.
I thought, if today was my last,
I'd have had a grand one.
I think of those things, lately.
It's what kidney failure does to you.
Makes you think.
The evening, sitting, enjoying
the things I love
was just what this old lady
needed, oh so much.
I said a few things to the universe.
Did it hear me ?
Who knows.
Not me.
I'm just walking slowly
along my path.
Throwing a few rocks
into the unknown.
This evening was just me,
sitting on a log,
watching the river flow.
Then onward on the path I went.
Enjoy,
