Maui Purrs

It was the last day of my warm vacation.

We had walked up the hill to the grocery store.

On the way, I spotted the elusive one.

Hiding behind some trees in the shade.

Yes, even in Hawaii,

I can find a cat.

Mr. Boatman took the photo

thus it's a bit fuzzy

but still we have proof

that even the cat

can enjoy a warm day

under the palm trees.

Don't tell my cats

that I went wild

over a cat while on vacation.

I saw a total of two cats.

One at each hotel.

This one I had to 

get a photo of

as it was enjoying

the warmth and the trees

as much as I was.

Out to Lunch

I went out to lunch 
in Maui.
Here I am enjoying the waves.
( The Beach House)

This was a quick let's get away vacation.

The cats were being spoiled.
The dogs went to what we call puppy camp.
( a kennel where they get to play all day)

I sat in the sort of sun.
It rained a couple of days.
It followed me from my rainy woods.

I had a great time.
Enjoyed the quiet.
Played in the pools.
Got just a bit of a color.

This was my gift
for surviving my five surgeries
in under two years.

Not that I'd suggest that anyone
do what I've done but
the reward sure was fun.

I now am ready
to continue on in this
journey called life.

I was reminded what
this is all about.
I'm good for another round
of whatever is thrown at me.

Oh, and I danced a lot.
Just saying ...

Warm Your Soul ...

Sometimes it's hard to remember that I actually went to Maui. The waters were amazing. The few days we spent were a thrill and a blur. Time went too fast. We were flying home and it was over. The plans took forever to make. Which hotels ? Where would we go ? What would we see ? Who had the best pools and beach ? I think we picked well. Some things we won't do again. A few hotels won't be on the list but the locations will.

 I've been home now for weeks. The weather has been too hot or too muggy or just plain yucky. I wish I lived with a beach that rolled in. So, for today I will remind myself and you of what it was like when I pretended for a week to be young and living by the beach. May you all get the chance. It will warm your soul !!!

We stayed three nights in Maui at the Hyatt

A garden below had swans and flamingos

The walkway near the beach went along several hotels

Letting me enjoy the beauty of the waves

While looking at the other hotels & pools

Was a bit too hot for me

I always brought my fan

Now I'm back to my muggy cloudy days

What a vacation I had

Breakfast out every morning

A view with waves and a beach

Swans swimming

Palm trees swaying

No cats or dogs though

So, I'm glad to be home ...
