Black Day In The Garden

It seems like Summer has left in a hurry.
Was warm and sunny one day,
rained the next.
Today, it feels like Fall.
You know how that is.

Mere and I are doing our daily routine.
Checking emails,
batting at the mouse with our tails,
that was Mere not me,
she helps me in so many ways.
Never a dull moment with this fur ball.
That is for sure.

Spent the long weekend at the beach place.
The H is building some steps
and I sat on the bench,
reading my latest adventure.
Jodie Belle was near me.
Like she always is.

We still miss Maddy Jean.
It hurts so much.
She was everywhere.
I keep telling myself that it's
 only been three weeks.
I know that it gets better with time.

We went to the vets last Friday.
We picked up her box and paw print.
I told my H we needed to bring her home.
She is now on the mantle.
Home where she belongs.
My girl.
My love.
My heart.

So, this week we have a list a mile long.
Doing the indoor things
that only Fall brings.
It's a change in days.
A change in nights.
Getting darker sooner.
I wish it wouldn't.
I enjoy sitting outside so very much.

That's the latest.
Not much going on over here in my woods.
Just life and birds and cats
to keep me company
while the world does
it's endless things.

Remember to Dance
when you can.
It renews the young
in your soul.

~ JC, Mere and Jodie Belle ~
Jodie is napping on the chair behind me.
Mere is helping me type.
Me, I'm just drinking coffee
in my Eeyore cup.

I'd like to be sitting in peaceful woods, away from the noise of neighbours and traffic. :-/

Lots of purrs from my boys...Healing, such as it is, takes a long time, we all know that. Give yourself the time and space your grief needs.

(((Hugs)))

I am so so sorry about Maddie Jean. Because of circumstances I don't seem to get around as much as I did. Please accept my condolences. I as do most of us, understand the pain you feel.

I looove that photo.

I'm sorry to hear of Maddy Jean. My cat passed away last summer and I still miss her. I had her for 18 years, and about a year before our other kitty (her mother) passed away. She was 20 years old.

Losing a pet can be rough, but somehow we get through it. In the meantime.... (((Hugs)))

There comes a time in your life when you walk away from all of the drama and the people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for those who don’t. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is part of life, getting back up is living.
