As I type this, my Dear Sweet Daughter
is napping on the rug next to me.
She has had a bad bad day and night.
Today, she is just a bit better.
She ate.
Yesterday, she did not.
She is ten years old.
Going on eleven.
Has nasty tumors all over her old body.
Had cancer surgery two Summers ago.
Nasty nasty nasty surgery.
Terrible months of healing.
We said we would not do that to her again.
I wish I hadn't said that.
I did.
Her leg is bothering her.
She has troubles getting up.
Troubles walking.
Oh those terrible stairs.
She lies down and you have to look.
To see if she is still breathing.
Last night I just hugged her.
On the rug.
Just her and me.
She didn't lift her head.
She was breathing though.
I did that for a long time.
Later, she did come up the stairs.
Very late at night.
I though oh my.
She feels better.
It's not easy.
Letting go.
Will it be this week.
Next month.
I told her to take her time.
She's always been one
to be in a hurry
to eat.
When she didn't eat last night.
Well, I knew we were in trouble.
So, today I am happy
cause she seems a bit better.
Sad, because I know my time
with this Sweet Dear Daughter
is running out.
What a grand time it's been.
She's the best dog.
No one has had a better one.
So imagine all your dogs
and how great they have been.
My dog is better than your dog.
Just had to say that.
Here's to
Madeleine Eugenie

Maddy Jean

Lots of purrs and hugs to you both. We ask that when it's Maddy Jean's time to cross, that she pass peacefully, gently and mercifully.
She has lived in love, and will pass into Love, when she's ready.
We read this post with leaky eyes. Keeping you and your sweet girl in our thoughts and purrs. (((hugs)))
It's so hard. I know. I do. How hard comfort care is. All I can say because words are meaningless is spend as much time with her and take tons of photos or videos or both. YOU will find them so meaningful as time moves forward. There is a special poignancy in the time you have, take each moment as a gift. As hard as it may be and remember love is eternal.
Purrs, hugs and love to you and dear Maddy Jean. It sure is tough.
Oh my heart breaks for you having to say goodbye. Your words are so beautiful and yes there is poignancy in this time with your sweet girl. You are in my prayers. Caro xx
Much love from us, and I know anyone who has seen a pet ill will be with you in heart and spirit.
Hang in there, you will know when the time comes. Be there for your wonderful friend.
Marjorie, Miranda, Silver and Harvey
It's the hardest thing about loving a dear friend, knowing the time will come when they must leave us. We will keep you both in our purrs and prayers.
We are so very sorry to hear that Maddy Jean isn't feeling well and are sending her healing purrs. We hopes you get to spend lots of times together before you has to say goodbye.
I know how hard it is - just give her all the love you can. Hugs
we are sending purrs that you have all the quality time possible....
It's always sad when we realize our time is growing short. They are so precious. We hope you have many good days left with Madeleine.
Purrs and love and deep caring to you and your daughter whom you love so much. I understand. Mom has leaky eyes and we think you must have too. She does know she is loved to the ends of the earth.
Oh... Sending you LOADS of purrs and hugs. Lovely to pop by and visit you again. Yet hoping you are ok. Love Helen, Darcy and brother Bingley xxx
