The Hospital Wasn't Too Bad

What I read while in the hospital.
My family brought me magazines.
I love Scandal.
I love Kerry Washington.
It kept me amused.
One needs that while in the ccu.
(coronary care unit)

The view from my room was really quite nice.
The hospital is new and up on a wooded hill.
The weather outside was warm.
The clouds kept me from thinking where I was.
The sunset was pretty.
Didn't get a photo of that though.
The room had a big screen TV.
Seriously, it did.
Had a channel that went to different places.
I watched that all night.
This, I think, is somewhere in the Caribbean.
Kept me from thinking where I was,
that's for sure.
This is the other magazine that my husband brought me.
Isn't he thoughtful.
I was reading these two while watching that TV.
Again, it kept my mind off of why I was there.

On Thursday morning, I went to the emergency room
at my local hospital.
Thought I was passing a kidney stone.
Stayed there for a few hours.
Then, up to the coronary care unit, I went.
My heart doesn't like me in pain.
They had me on all sorts of meds
to get my number back into normal range.
Didn't happen.

I have been home for a day.
On new meds.
Getting into the special surgeon tomorrow.
He usually books out two months.

Do I know how to have fun over here in the woods ?

Just saying ...

I'm wishing you a lot less "fun." Even a little less "fun."

Dear JC, hope that things are going well now. I volunteer at a thrift shop three days a week for the Visiting Nurse/Hospice House of Suffolk County. I was a teacher and now in retirement I try to make money at the thrift shop to help support the VNS in East Northport, near to my old school. I saw something last week that I would like to mail to you, something that reminded me of your love of cats. Use the e-mail address: bigred414@verizon.net to contact me. I hope that you will like this small token. Lori

Healing purrs to you!!

There comes a time in your life when you walk away from all of the drama and the people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for those who don’t. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is part of life, getting back up is living.
