Finish Each Day

Big Al in his box using his eyes to keep the rest of the purr gang away.
~ ~ ~
Finish each day and be done with it.
 You have done what you could.
Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in;
forget them as soon as you can.
 Tomorrow is a new day;
 begin it well and serenely
 and with too high a spirit
 to be encumbered with your old nonsense.

~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

I saw this quote and thought it was meant for me.
I deal with a bit of anxiety from time to time.
Thus, my love of my somewhat peaceful woods.
The thought of going out into the big bad world
full of noise and traffic and what ifs
does get me in a 'why' mood at times.
I think, 'do I really need to go out ?'
Most times I don't unless I have
an appointment but today,
I need to drive to the grocery store
and with all that's going on
with me ( no details today)
I thought 'do I really?'.
As I sat here, trying to get
my rear out the door,
I saw this quote and thought,
that's me.

Now, I really do need to
get out and about.

I guess that box is all Big Al's!

My mom likes that quote. She probably needs to read it every day.

Well, I stuck my fat feet in my mouth at a workshop today, just opened my mouth and, triggered by what the presenter was talking about, said a few things (work-related) I ought not to have. So I'd say that quote is perfect for me too. And now that I think of it, I'm 99.99% sure I stuck my foot in it in March too, at my last workshop.

Sigh.

"Socially inept." Yep, that's me.

I love that quote and think it applies to me too. I hope you're doing much better and take great joy when you get back to your safe haven, your home.

Lovely quote. I wish I could spend more time at home but with errands and work - I don't get to.

There comes a time in your life when you walk away from all of the drama and the people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for those who don’t. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is part of life, getting back up is living.
