Walk In My Woods

I open the door and feel the cool breeze.
It welcomes me to it's world.
Wet to my feet.
I step like I'm in the marching band.
Lifting up so that my feet don't get moister than they already are.
I still have my Summer flips on.
I'm not quite ready for the cooler months.
I wander my usual route.
Leaving the dogs to go theirs,
I meet up with them under the oak tree.
Leaves are starting to gather by the lawn.
I step around trying not to bother.
As the girls venture in the woods,
I stop and turn to the left.
My lovely butterfly bush is now done.
It's blooms gone until next Spring.
The flutterbyes did enjoy their dancing this year.
And as I walk up the hill, with my girls behind,
I know that Summer is at an end.
Wet shoes, tails wagging,
it's been a lovely walk in my woods.

Jodie is becoming quite the elegant lady!! I took the dogs for a long walk this morning, and two of us cam back sodden. Whippets are such tidy dogs...
Hope you are feeling better!!

Yes it IS a beautiful post..our minds think a lot alike.

There comes a time in your life when you walk away from all of the drama and the people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for those who don’t. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is part of life, getting back up is living.
