This is my son.
He graduates from High School
in a few days.
He has been a joy.
Really he has.
This photo says it all.
Always having fun.
And, I mean always.
School was not his favorite thing.
Enjoying life has always been.
He's grown up so fast.
I can remember when he was young.
I looked at his yearbook.
Kids I knew in Kindergarten
and seventh grade are now grown.
They are all going to different places.
Not together like they have been
these almost thirteen years.
It is a sad time but
also one of wonder.
That excitement of what might be.
I don't want to tell him
that it goes away.
That reality starts the first day of college.
When the studying and tests return.
He won't like that part.
I do think he will
always find ways
to do what he's doing
in the photo.
Enjoy the ride
called life.

( My son is off to a local University this Fall.
To study History or Computer Science.
He's not sure yet.
Astronomy is showing an interest too
if only it didn't have so much math involved.
Either way, he is on his way. )

Re your comment/question: If we can't find someone to help with the transport, we're going to look into hiring a pet transport company.

Well at least he wants to leave. My daughter shows no sign of moving on. Course she won't graduate until at least November.

That is awesome! Congratulations to your son & you :) He will love college. My daughter did. She graduated with a doctorate in May of this year. Seven long years of schooling but I am sure she will always look back on that time as the period in her life when life was truly unfolding.
