Little did they know ....

The three were known for venturing out.
Not ones for being in.
Their coats and gloves made them warm.
The hats and scarfs made them mad.
The buns they wore kept them tight.
The frames of life they adored.

I knew about them.
They made their mark.
Little did they know.
That someday we would write about them,
As they stood there in the snow.

What makes a woman real ?
I think it's her attitude.
The wrinkles in her skin tell all.
The things she did and knew.

No color could express the mood.
The one that they brought out.
The joy they felt each day
to be a woman in the snow.

(I wrote this quick.
Busy today but wanted to get this out.
I love photos from the past.)

A woman in the snow. I love that. I want to be one.

You are a better woman than I am. Today it is sleeting on Long Island. I dare not venture out with my car. Staying at home catching up on e-mails, making another batch of Chicken Soup, listening to the news radio, making plans to visit Kiawah Island, Charleston, South Carolina. It is peaceful to be home.

Wonderful write. Love the feel of the second stanza... Love the attitudes projected, captured in a single moment in time.

My Mgpie would beg to differ! LOL

There comes a time in your life when you walk away from all of the drama and the people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for those who don’t. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is part of life, getting back up is living.
