No Time
It's been warm
The cats are melting
Dogs are panting
Fans blowing on them as I write
Blinds pulled
Sun beating down
Sprinklers going
No time to make the bed
It's Summer !!!

There comes a time in your life when you walk away from all of the drama and the people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for those who don’t. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is part of life, getting back up is living.

Sounds like a hot summer for you, my friend! Stay cool!
summertime and who needs covers? Fun post!
So hot here too. The cats don't seem to mind, I've seen them find a sunny spot to lay in when the temperatures are in the upper 80's. Desert creatures:)

That sums up my summer too - without cats or dogs though. Very nicely composed!
a cool one:)
nicely done.
I'm henceforth using this as my excuse for not making the bed. You having captured the feeling heat exhaustion perfectly.
Yep, hot happens here too!
I agree, writing the blog trumps bed making!
Sounds just right for this summer!
A nice composition detailing the summer heat...Are the owls and ducks still around?...Kiss your sweet cats and dogs for me!...Happy week friend.

My sentiments exactly.
Great summery Magpie! :)
I've learned to be a bit of a sloth regarding housework - after decades of neatntidy. ;) Clever poem!
It is hot here on Long Island too. Sorry about the pets getting warm. The picture on the opening banner, where is it? My favorite beach on the Planet it Robert Moses, on our south shore. It is a state part. Very beautiful, but so is that picture. Cheers and stay cool.
