Always Stairs ...

Huge steps going up
Lots of shoes near
One little girl walks her way
Hoping to hold that handle
Too many between her
Always scared
Don't look up
Keep walking
Hold on tight
There it is
Stop and turn around
That mean dark stairway
Passing that button
Maybe I should push it
Everyone would get out of my way

I felt her desperation, and found myself wishing she'd push the button... :)

I loved this ... I think my elementary school was a lot like I envision the school, the stairs and the child in your Magpie.

There comes a time in your life when you walk away from all of the drama and the people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for those who don’t. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is part of life, getting back up is living.
