Hidden within ...

I was sixteen and riding on the transit.
While looking about the old city.
Wanting more and hoping for it.
Telling myself that when I grew up I'd do better.
I'd have money.
 I didn't have much as a child.
I'd do things.
I'd just been turned down by my parents
to go to ski school with my friends.
As life went on, I still wanted.
I'd get that notebook out on those late Winter nights.
Write my thoughts.
Look at them the next day.
Life and exams got in the way.
Ok, a boy or two did too.
I even showed them what I did.
They didn't seem impressed.

When I saw the writing promt
from Willow, I was scared.
I don't write much.
I am now an old soul.
That young girl is
 hidden within my wrinkles.
My memories are shiny and worn within.
Like the old urn on the mantel.
That young girl is still on the bus.
 Dreaming within her words.
And, so just for today
She writes ...

Our young inner selves still have dreams, most unfulfilled...I'm glad you are writing now!

I think this is a great post - it makes me think about being a kid, and writing any silly story I thought up. I wish I had kept that up.

We all have our childhood dreams, a few are lucky to make them a reality when they grow-up. You are one of the lucky ones who have made their dreams come true. Good for you.

That was absolutely beautiful and I think a piece of all of us can relate to that! Thanks you!

One of the most powerful things we can do is let our inner child catch up with who we are now. Keep writing, sister.

So glad you are writing...your words are beautiful. We all need to find the hidden child within. xoxoxo

There comes a time in your life when you walk away from all of the drama and the people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for those who don’t. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is part of life, getting back up is living.
