Light ...

As I sit here, having the first sip of my meowning coffee
I notice that the light that came from my living room is gone
Yesterday, I took the ornamental shiny things off
Wrapped them in cheery tissue papers or
in their own designed boxes
They are now in the big box.
Waiting to go upstairs to the attic.
I know things have to end.
I liked having coffee with my twinkle lights
Mr. Boatman even took down all the outside lights.
No brightness coming in to visit me from the den windows.
This darkness that is wet, can only be heard.
The light out on the brick post echoes the unknown.
My dog does not.
 She brought in the moisture.
So, until the dark becomes light,
I will walk around in this
Dark place
until the lights appear from above

And, for your de light of the day ...
Photos of the cats enjoying the Holidays ...

I too have boxes waiting to go up the attic. however, I decided to keep a couple of ornaments out all year. They are sparkly and make me smile. Also a couple of the Hallmark ones that belong to my daughters have been kept out, sitting on a shelf. Makes me think the girls are closer (away at school). :)

Beautiful pictures. I miss the pretty lights too but I don't miss trying to keep Midnight out of the tree and away from the ornaments!

Awww...nice post. It's a little bittersweet putting away the Christmas decorations for next year. The cats look so cute!

Look at those sweet kits. Al looks so handsome on your other blog too. He looks just like my Big Booty Boo looked, happy guy.

It is the dark time. Time to light candles if you can. Bring back the light.

We miss our Christmas lights too. But we noticed that at 4:45 this afternoon it wasn't dark outside yet. Spring is coming, the days are getting longer!

Our cats sure know how to enjoy Christmas from the lights to the trees to the paper to the ribbons to the ornaments. They show us just how to enjoy the moment☺

I like the idea of leaving up some white January lights; I'd call them snowlights. They would help cheer things up until the sunlight catches up (yes I've noticed it's staying lighter a bit longer - but it's going to take awhile before it makes a difference in the coldness). So, quick, before they make it up to the attic, pull out a string or two of cheery white lights.

P.S. My kitties are enjoying their Whicker Lickin's ... a lot!

Loved the pics....we miss everything too....sigh.....we really think there should be a law that the tree and lights should have to stay up all year. :)

It is sad when the lights have to come down. I'll be putting Christmas away this Saturday.

There comes a time in your life when you walk away from all of the drama and the people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for those who don’t. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is part of life, getting back up is living.
