It's quiet here ...

Happy New Year's Eve
I am at our beach house
A car ride with five cats and two dogs
Is always fun
At least it's not dull
It's quiet here
Peaceful
Which is what my soul needs
Plan on going out to dinner
Maybe a movie
Right now I'm having my
MEOWning Coffee
While looking at the drops fall
From the cloudy sky

May 2010 be good to all of you

Peace Love & Joy ...

Paws Holiday

I wanted to write something
FABULOUS ...
But instead I will just say
That the Holiday was truly
ENJOYED
By those with Paws
And, those without

As the evening passes

And as the evening passes, I see
No one ever means to be
They start with an eye towards the light
Never venturing off the end
Near the bottom of the top
Always going past
When will it stop
The long walk into sun
Needles and pines
Oft to the left
A river that leaves me
I float with the leaves
As they join the speed
Faster we go
No one is there
I'm falling down the way
Too fast to leave
Oh the day is gone
I will wake next time
And, there I go
With wildness of
My mind

Sitting inside my soul

I feel like I am alive again.
My laptop has come home.
It went away to college.
Very unexpectedly.
It arrived home a week ago.
Had to be updated & refreshed.
That means that all the college stuff
Had to be taken off
Tonight it is finally ready to BE WITH ME

It has crumbs in it's keyboard
Smudges that weren't there before
A shake here & a rub there
Might bring back it's shine

I told myself that I would write again
When my lovely laptop came back to me
I waited
I counted
I decided I would not try to think about a thing
Til my blue laptop that I bought to help me
Write the words I needed
To be the creative power that I always
Knew I could be

Not that anyone will read what I put
Down in words
But, I will feel better
It's like they have been sitting
Inside my soul
And, now I can release
The thoughts of this old lady
Who lives in the woods ...

Things like that ...

The Snow from 2008 .. the view out my upstairs window

Dear Bloggers Who Follow Me ...
I tried to post from my laptop
This meowning but it had troubles
It was a nice blog about my cat, Riley
The meowning lights from the tree
And from outside
My coffee
My almost anniversary from
Going into & out of my coma
Things like that ...

I lost it of course in the process
Of trying to fix it
That darn underlining button

So, instead I write you from
The old puter & keyboard

I'm going to be in & out
Will try to post & read
If you don't hear from me
It's not that I didn't read
Your lovely blogs
It's just that I didn't get
To commenting

All of you have a very
Merry Holiday
And, I Wish you & yours
A Very Purrfect New Year

For the Holiday ...

It's pouring rain
The birds have raincoats on
Seriously ... they do
The cats are mewing
The dogs don't want to go outside
I don't either
Too WET

Both my travelers got home
A luggage bag lost
And delivered in the wee hours
Circled the airport three times
Waiting for one of them
Normal pick up & delivery

Shopped on Sunday
I think I'm almost done
Still a few stocking stuffers needed

Hope you are all ready
for the Holiday
I think I am ...

Wish & Hope

It's dark out
The lights are shining
The tree looks festive
Festive seems to be my word for the week
Been typing that one a lot

I use the word Holiday too
Just seems to fit better than Christmas
With all the different beliefs in this world
Celebrating the Fun of the Season
The joy of bright things
The hope of fresh starts

I enjoy the colors
Red, Blue, a bit of Green
White is nice too
A light pink
Ooh, that's good too
(like LeAnn's tree)

My hope is for the two boys
Still at PetSmart
To get a Forever Home
I went there yesterday for supplies
(my litter scoop broke .. which is an E mer Gen Cy)
OK, it did but I just had to see if my push here on my blog
Had gotten them a new home
So, Please continue to mention them
Maybe we can get them a home for the New Year

It's quiet
I like it
I always have

Mr. Boatman & my daughter
Fly into town
On Saturday

They make lots of
NOISE

Til then I will enjoy
My coffee with my two girls
Snoozing by me
My five purr balls
And, my wish for good things
To happen to all of us

I wish for that
Everyday

As the darkness
Gives way to the light
Of the new day

I wish & hope
Over here in my
House in the woods

this funny gal ....

Jasmine sitting on her stocking .. her version of helping

I started blogging because my friend, LeAnn did.
She would make me laugh
She made me wonder if maybe this blogging world
Would help me
I'd ask and she would point me
Soon, I figured this and that out
Before long, I was busy doing my own things
LeAnn still makes me laugh
She still makes me cry
We even have Siamese cats with the same name
Today she posted another one of her fabulous blogs
This time she mentioned me
So, today I'm mentioning her
Please visit her blog
See what she said about me
You'll learn the other side
That only this funny gal in Cally
Seems to understand
And, she has a nifty pink tree
With a very cute Siamese

it spoke to me ...

We bought our 2009 Holiday tree. It's a six foot instead of our usual eight. The boys decided they wanted to be able to put the top star on without getting a ladder. It was fun. Like it usually is. I walk around the lot .. several times .. seeing this one and that .. the three times I walked by this tree .. it spoke to me. You know how they do that. So, now it is my lovely Holiday tree. I will enjoy coffee while watching the lights in the meowning. I will sit by it and read by the the fake fireplace. I will put my beloved cat ornaments on it ... I have several of them but two are in memory of my Siamese Girls ... I truely enjoy putting my tree together.

I'll post pics of what it looks like all dressed up .. later .. til then ... just imagine what fun I'm having today ... on this still frozen Sunday meowning ...

Aren't I lucky ... the life I live ... Wow Meow ^,,^

I Would

I would ~

~ I would like to travel. See anything other than this cold, normally wet world.
~ I would lile to sit in the sun. On a warm beach. Watching the waves roll in.
~ I would like to be thin. OK, thinner ...
~ I would like to shop. Go to the mall and look around and buy a few items. Just enjoy the thrill of it all.
~ I would like to listen to the piano playing at the store ... the one with an N .. with a hot cup of coffee in my hand and a bag in the other.
~ I would like to wake up and not hurt. Just for a few days. Oh, wouldn't that be nice.
~ I would like to have my Mother here. I miss her this time of year. She was a pain in my behind but with time the fun times are what I remember. The Holidays haven't been the same since she went away.
~ I would like to not argue with Mr. Boatman. We haven't been getting along and I want my good days with him back.
~ I would like to not have my forth year anniversary ... from waking up from my coma ... coming up. I'd really like to have not had that happen to me.
~ I would like to not worry about Mr. Boatman's job. At this age, I'm in my early ... with early being the thing to remember ... fifties ... and wouldn't you think that life would get easier as you get older.
~ I would like to not be afraid all the time. Not that I am but that feeling ... that something is going to happen ... I'm so very tired of that.
~ I would like to do things the way I want. I want to be who I want to be. Not to always share and do what everyone else wants.
~ I would like to have more friends. Even one good one to talk to would be nice. I haven't really had a friend since I was in my teens. People come and go but no one who I can really talk to.
~ I would like my world to just stop in motion. That feeling ... again ... that I want it to stay the same. Not to change. I don't want anyone of my cats or dogs to get sick. I want to have everyone stay safe & healthy.
~ I would like my world to be peaceful. Really ... I wish for it ... I hope for it ... I want it so.
~ I would like nasty people to actually know that they are. To have them never be mean again. Wouldn't that be grand to have them realize what they've done and said and for them to do good in return for the rest of their lifes.
~ I would like my migraines to go away ... never to return. Ever ... ever ... ever ... EVER.
~ I would like to be able to drive my car. To not have to worry about whether I'm going to pass out.
~ I would like to have me back. That's my wish ... I want the old me ... back. I'm in there ...
~ I would like all the cats & dogs in the world to find a loving home.
~ I would like to be on vacation forever.
~ I would like the house to be clean.
~ I would like someone else to do the laundry & dishes.
~ I would like the world to be a kinder place.

What would you like ...

circle the wagons ...

And the cold spell keeps on coming
Each morning, I take my girls ... Maddy Jean & Bella ..
out back for their meowning walk.
Bella, is on week five of her recovery,
and still needs to be walked on her leash.
Today, it was a Fabulous 12 .. trying to get to 13.
WHAT ?
Not icy though ... no moisture so it's just cold ...
 crunchy actually.
Moon is out which is very pretty.
Stars are too.
I keep thinking I need to bring
my handy dandy photo shooter with me
Where would I put it ?
I have the flashlight in my pocket.
Bella & Maddy Jean are excited to go out.
My coat won't zip up on command.
When I do get out to the crunchy lawn
The moon & stars look absolutely gorgeous
For that second or two
Then, I'm getting the girls to circle the wagons
and turn back to the porch

The LOOK says it all ...

On this Frosty Cold Friday MEOWning, I thought you'd ENJOY an update on the DECORATING of this OLD CAT HOUSE ... it's coming along. Spent another day getting the Village Houses out of the attic. Again, who thought of putting in a half sized door. You have to bend over and actually put your leg through the door cause otherwise you have to crawl in. Oh, and don't forget as you leave to bend over again and put that leg out the door ...
 fun times ...

I got all of the houses put up. Some are on the entry hall table the others are on the fireplace mantel in the family room. It takes a long time to take them out of the boxes and put the boxes back upstairs. Arrange them and put the lights in them. Mr. Boatman came home and rearranged the lights for me ...
 he's so handy that way.

Jasmine Marie was the Holiday Snooperviser ..
I think they are taking turns.

Oh and I have to mention this ... My son's High School Football team is playing for the State Championship tonight. I think that is pretty darn cool. We aren't a big rich school. Just a small school that nothing ever happens to ... Wouldn't it be nice if the underdog wins ... I sure hope they do !!!

You all ENJOY your Weekend ... I plan on it ...

This is what I've gotten done so far

Thought I'd show you what my new candleholders look like

Aren't you glad you came by to visit ...

I'll just do what I can reach ..

Off to Costco I go to get that wreath I saw last weekend.
I meant to just get the wreath and a few other items on my list.
While walking over to the paper towels area,
THEY jumped in my cart.
I am now the owner of two ceramic candle holders.
They have snowflake designs.
I haven't bought myself anything for the Holidays or Winter
In FOREVER
Fun
I got home and hung the wreath up.
It doesn't look too bad.
Hope the birds don't eat the fake red berries this year.
Last year, I had a berry wreath and they did.
I got some of the front yard lights up.
Just enough so when I get up in the meowning
The darkness is cheery.
It's frozen out.
Nothing like walking the old dog in the tundra.
Today, I'm going to put more lights up.
Mr. Boatman put out the extension cords late last night.
He's been Mr. Invisible.
His new job keeps him late at work.
I think I will be doing all the lights and the decorating.
Which I'm fine with.
It's just more fun when we do the lights together.
This year I won't be doing the trees down the driveway
Like we usually do or the house
I'll just do what I can reach ..

I kicked it ...

On the ever popular list for yesterday
was get the holiday lights
 out of the upstairs attic.
As the day went on,
I got most things done but there it was
at the bottom of the list.
So, around six in the evening I forged a path to the door.
The bonus room as it's called is really a
puter nerd/teenage son's storage area.
Add in a few book cases, several very old chairs
and an even older tv cabinet and you have it.
Now that you have that image in your brain,
imagine me moving this and that to the side.
I open the door and with shock ...
and I was really ... there the box was.
Last thing in the attic .. first thing out.
That was way too easy.
Course the box was piled with tangled lights.
Too heavy to pick up, I kicked it ... slowly ...
across the path I'd made.
Into the hallway ...
that also has a few items from the bonus room
that tried to make an escape.
There the box sits.
 Top of the stairs.
Enough room for a cat to sit by it.
Wouldn't want to ruin Riley's ..
peer down at the other cats on the stairs ... routine.
I was so proud of myself.
When Mr. Boatman got home, I announced my accomplishment.
No real praise was given.
Did he not realize what I'd just done ?
So, on today's List is detangle holiday lights.
Maybe just maybe
I'll actually get some put out in the front yard.
Wouldn't that be nice ...

So what's lighting up your world ?
There comes a time in your life when you walk away from all of the drama and the people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for those who don’t. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is part of life, getting back up is living.
